Did the 3 toppings slow growth down much? Debating on just LST'ing plants or topping a few times......being a first indoor grow I have no real experience on topping under artificial lighting.
I just want a small head stash to get me by till my state is legal. I'd be happy with 6 zips w/ 2 plants.

I think the 3 fruit punch all loved the topping and responded accordingly, never any signs of slow growth
The Atomic not so much, she was much more fussy and took longer to recover compared to the other 3

I did some manuevering so I could look at tricomes on each plant, snapped a pic of each girl while they were pushed towards the walls . Still don't have any room at front of the tent so both those girls are stil closer up pics, sorry

The Atomic is very orange in comparison to the fruit punch , she's covered in red/orange hairs

I need to figure how to increase the size of my stems/roots
Bigger roots bigger fruits and all that fun stuff.
Just looking at my 4 girls, none of them have very big main stems, compared to other grows i have seen grown in similar situations.
Anyone got any advice to get my stock and roots exploding in growth?

Lots of aeration in your media.
My favorite thing to grow in is coco in a 3:1 mix with perlite, and I have tried it all.

I have actually considered switching to coco, even more since FFOF or any other good soils became less available to me. I like the idea of feeding the plants exactly what you want from the beginning and every day. Soil is definitely very low maintenance, watering every 3-5 days, it helps keep it simple for us newbies, but i dont think that would be an issue for me, i enjoy spending the time with the plants.
These were grown in FFOF and 30% perilite.

If you get a dripper setup you'll only have to mess with it every few days.
I think it is easier to grow in than soil. If you over water soil you are pretty much screwed until it dries out. You can't over water coco like you can soil. Also no fungus gnats or anything like that in coco. Ph and ppm adjustments are pretty much immediate if something goes wrong there. It's cheaper, and you can reuse the stuff for years with only a flush.
There are some cons to it, but the pro's outweigh them, imo. You have to be on top of your ph, and usually have to add a cal-mag supplement.
I highly recommend it.

I was looking at the bluemats, they seem like a nice drip setup.
i can see in your words how much you like using coco. I agree with you, there is def alot of pros to switching, i havent had an overwatering issue yet in my short time growing, but i really wish i could be feeding the plants more frequently, i think more food would = bigger plants/bigger buds?
Re-using also seems like it would be beneficial for obvious reasons.
what brand coco do you use? got a link?

Whats the purpose of the clay pebble?
Ive seen growers with their pots topped up with the pebbles, do they hold water similar to the coco?
