Dinafem Blue Widow: Smoke Report

Strain Name: Blue Widow
Breeder: Dinafem
Genetics: Blueberry x White Widow
-mostly indica
Grown here in: FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil
Lighting: 400W HPS start to finish.
Light Schedule: 12-12 from seed.
Fed with: Advanced Nutrients grow, micro, bloom; big bud, bud factor x, bud candy, sensizym, voodoo juice, and final phase.

SMOKE REPORT!

At a glance: the buds are very delicious and juicy-looking. Orange hairs explode across the surface of the sticky, fat, dank nugs, and the copious resin production really shows through. The green leaves shifted to a darker green, tinted with faint purples and browns. Overall, these buds define counter appeal, and any dispensary would do well to stock this medicine.

It smells like: These buds have a distinct, musty aroma of pungent fruits like guava and cantaloupe cut with that iconic blueberry funk. I would say that I got the more blueberry-ruled phenotype for sure. When it's ground, the bud releases a surprisingly sharp, acidic, citrus odour that is startlingly powerful on the nose.

How to smoke this strain: Definitely roll it up. The taste of this herb is incredible, rich in fruity tones and silky smooth on the exhale.

How is the Smoke? In a joint, the blue widow is so very nice to me. Its smoke is sweet, leaving a perfume-like taste on your tongue that falls apart into bittersweet fruit notes if you exhale partially through the nose. Every toke seems to be a bit different, however, and now that I'm halfway through my joint, the smoke is a touch spicier and tastes more musty. Not sure how I feel about that, but oh man am I medicated already. Which brings us to...

The High: Being the product of a high resin producing white widow father and a high cbd blueberry mother, Blue Widow delivers the strengths of both. The medicine is, as I said earlier, dusted over in trichomes. The body pain-releiving effects from the high cbd can be felt almost immediately, and in hindsight, I think an entire joint of this medicine may be pushing it for the average smoker. It feels like I'm back on the dentist's vicodin, pinned to my seat and numb of all pain. I feel completely sedated, and all I can think of doing is succumbing to my sleepiness. It was a long day today, and I'm up late doing this review, but now I'm considering actually going to bed. This medicine would be suited perfectly to patients suffering from insomnia, and patients undergoing chemotherapy, particularly. I have never felt this sort of bodily equilibrium from any other medicine, and I would recommend it highly for deep meditation or for creative processes; I feel like my thoughts are flowing slower, but clearer and more refined. Time seems to flow more slowly as well and I feel satisfied with my recent productivity as opposed to my usual self-criticism. I suggest this medicine for anyone suffering from stress or depression. It really is a calming, peaceful, self-revealing high that is very positive.

Additional Info: If you begin to feel a tightness in your chest or abdomen, don't worry, just take a few deep breaths and it's gone; this discomfort is caused by what I believe to be "auto-responsive muscle-tightening," which I hypothesize is a product of cbd(cannabidiol)'s effect on the way our brains fire neurons in the sections controlling voluntary muscle function. This could potentially prove to be effective in treating soreness, as light, controlled muscle activity has been proven to reduce lactic acid build up in sore muscle tissue. Basically, what I'm saying is that I think cbd makes our muscles tighten just a bit involuntarily, which can cut soreness later.

I think Dinafem is the most over rated breeder there is.
Have you ever tried to grow anything from them? Everything I have tried from them was good = Moby dick, White Siberian, haze v.2, Blue Widow, White Widow, original Amnesia, California HP. Well it's not TGA subcool or mr.Nice seeds but for sure it's not either GreenHouse seeds which is true crap. Show some respect for Dinafem. It maybe not for a true connoisseur but it's quite decent for the average grower.

I have tried a few Dinafem freebies with mixed results. A single seed is no way to judge a strain but I will tell you my experience. I have run a Cali Hashplant, pretty decent just not stand out in my stable. Powerkush was similar. They both grew well and smelled great just not 9's or 10's. My one White Widow was garbage. Again one seed is just that one seed. The line could be kick ass, my one just was not. Now on to Critical Jack amd Blue Widow. Critical Jack is a winner. Puts on the serious nugs. All keepers and burly, hard nugs. Smell and taste is awesome. The jar wakes up the room when you open it. The Blue Widow we just call, "That Bitch". She does NOT play. Nugs so dense bags look like beasters, except desirable. Fosted white and smells like mild blueberry goodness. These nugs are not quite as big around as the Critical Jack but they are more dense. I cant believe trichomes can grow like that inside such a dense bud. These two are mainstays in the garden now. Every run will have these two in them for sure. The patients request these most of the time.

I have tried several strains from them and right now I have a Blue Widow going. Every DF seed I have ever popped has been a dissapointment. They are over priced and from what I have seen they have near zero stability. Right now I have 6 Bubblegummer, 1 WOS madness and the BW going and it is very obvious which one it is. The cheap bubblegummer are far more stabile and are much healthier than the BW and from what I have experienced that is the norm. They may have been a premium breeder years ago but now they are slightly better than bag seeds as far as I am concerned. I give all my DF freebies to a buddy of mine and he is happy as hell. I agree that GHS is garbage but there are a few strains from GHS that I would take over anything DF offers and get waaaayyyy better results. Nirvana is entry level genetics and most of there strains grow better than Dinafem.

youve grown 2 or 3 of their strains, probably just 1 that you havent even finished yet.until youve grown alot more of their strains its abit harsh to say they are overatted.
many ppl like their stuff, which is why they are highly rated.

Well maybe is just good or bad luck after all (?). Everything I have grown from GH seeds (Super Silver and Super Lemon hazes, Cheese, Green-o-matic) was really shitty crap. But everything from Dinafem (especially Moby dick & White Siberian) was stable and strong, really a decent deal.

Did some Blue Widow, and found it to be consistent. I like it. Crossed it with Karma Genetics White OG and ended up with a real keeper strain.
