We seeing preflowers on the Kananga. Starting to see watermelons on the vine and the tomatoes are starting to ripen up. I have one that is almost completely red. What is in all these grow bloom formulas thats not in molasses?Dirrtyd

Well things are getting crazy in the potted plants. Seeing flowers on them looks like i will have some finishing first week of September. The watermelons are popping up all over , the peppers are starting to show I have one red tomatoe and another changing colors. The other tomatoes are just going crazy had to tie up the branches on it. Overall the garden is looking good will put up pics tomorrow.Dirrtyd

Nice garden pix!

I went digging in my watermelon vines this morning. Very dense. I found eight melons, ranging in size from a baseball to a football. Last year's melons were outstanding, and were up to 20 pounds.

I didn't know that was your first tomato. Mine are gradually beginning to produce. Early girls are very quick to produce. We've also had a couple nice Ace 'maters and a few Champions. None are really setting a lot of fruit, like last year.(The best year for tomatoes I've had in a couple decades.)

It has been a really weird year for everything.

Veggie if my watermelons turn out as sweet as the one I bought for 99cent the other day will be happy. Oh and yes the vines are real dense with a lot of blooms but not alot of fruit. I will be happy if I get twenty out the whole patch.

Yeah I have one tomatoe plant the realtor gave out and one I bought at HD. The one i bought is a indeterminate plant the other I dont know but it has a lot of fruit on it. I'm happy I would say about thirty on it now and still blooming. Pic of the gurls later. Dirrtyd

Enjoy the pics. One of the aero system. The rest of the plants I feel will yield a QP or more. Enjoy Dirrtyd

Any idea why potted plants start flowering before in-ground plants? I'm having the same issue, although an early harvest will be nice. Cuts some of my yield though.

You should get more than a QP off those, I'm guessing closer to a HP.

Anything over my original estimate is a blessing. As far as the potted plants flowering first no idea. Glad though as you said an early harvest. I play that part with the numbers game myself.
bull

The gurls are looking great they are filling out good. The potted plants are all starting to bud. So that will gaurantee an early harvest this year. So far I am very happy about the plants and I learned a few things for next year.Dirrtyd

Well just checked and watered the gurls they are all starting to preflower so looks like I will have a monster done by end of September .The others should finish by mid October. Will take pics once they start developing a little more. Still only tap water and a one time feeding of metanaturals. Hopefully I can go all the way with just tap water. Dirrtyd

Went out and noticed more branches than usual shooting for the sky trying to reach the main stem. So this is looking like it will be a great season. Only if this Bay Area weather could get a little warmer in the mornings. The fog burning off at twelve makes me miss alot of morning sun. Oh well if it dont rain till November i will be happy.
