Had some Acapulco Gold from Barney's that completely sucked. Then I figured out that I needed to reconfigure my exhaust system and grew the same strain and was slightly above average.
Disappointed with Breeders.

They aren't British, they distribute out of spain which a lot of seed companies do for legal reasons. They done several collabs with norcal growers like biovortex, emerald mountain legacy,ras truth, loompa, kiefsweat, etc. They are rumored to be an American branch of dinafem. Seem to have mixed reviews on the gear

Their company name is Humboldt Seeds Organisation (British spelling). Their website is Humboldt Seeds UK. They have been around about 10 years selling recycled and renamed played out Dutch genetics farmed at Spanish seed mills, which is what most of the "old school" Dutch breeders have been doing for the past 10 years or so anyway. Being a branch of Dinafem isn't exactly a badge of honor, though I doubt that they are affiliated other than buying bulk seeds from the same mills. Also, Loompa is a friend (who doesn't even live in Humboldt or even California anymore) and I don't know of any collaboration with HSO... but if there was one, I'm certain that it was strictly financially motivated.

Have you grown any HSO gear? I have, and others I trust here have, and it was fine. Black Dog gets good reviews from solid growers. Anyways.

I grew a few of them, they were all good blueberry haze with moderate potency and great bag appeal, very consistent in my experience.
I have HSO Black Dog and Purple Trainwreck in transit to my place right now.

I grew some HSO Attitude OG Kush and Blue Dream freebies from them some years back. The OGs were definitely not OG and the Blue Dream was bland and generic with some haze genetics and some blueberry in there (sort of like the circulated cut itself). Nothing worth keeping. Smoke wasn't schwag for the most part but wasn't anything to write home about and certainly not what I'm used to. You can find decent smoke in most any pack of seeds. I'm not after decent or even "good". It's got to be a superstar to even get a second run. I haven't seen any keepers come out of European beans in years... and those keepers were Lemon Thai f2s and Lala Haze direct from Lil Bald Man Lala, none of that mass-produced seed mill garbage they sell at the big banks. Oh... and a nice Jackberry from Sannie that my buddy kept around a year or so.

In seriousness, though, I agree with you about Euro banks for the most part, largely middling. North American genetics are killing it for potency and flavor diversity, and there’s fire everywhere.

Had good luck with chemdawg from them, I keep it around for the pine terpines; which are a nice break from all the fruity strains dominating today's seedbanks.

Honestly I don't think you did too bad. Even just a few years ago, Attitude was kind of the go to place for a lot of growers, and a lot of guys were finding pretty good fire from a lot of the breeders available there. They had good shipping times and prices, and were good at getting things through customs, which was the only way a lot of people could get any seeds at all for a long time.My selection sucks
I think that access to top-notch American genetics has continued to expand at a time that European genetics have steadily declined, and now that North American based seedbanks are beginning to flourish, there is less and less reason for most of us to order anything from overseas.
That said, I think Attitude gets shit on more than is fair sometimes. I've ordered from them recently because they had a strain I've always wanted to try that I couldn't get domestically. I'm probably going to order from them again soon for the same reason. The freebies aren't usually going to be the centerpiece of my garden, but I've found some surprises, and at the very least, it's nice to have some seeds around that I don't give a shit about to either give away or experiment with.

^That said^, if you're just after some dank weed and not a trip down nostalgia lane, you can just go to JBC, pick just about any random strain from any random breeder, and have absolute fire in your mailbox 3 days later, and it's hard to overstate what an absolute blessing that is.

Friends are the key. The pro's kind of have to chase the hottest new thing. It's labor, space and cost intensive to find the "chosen" pheno. If you have a friend who has already has the cut in question it can give you a huge head start.
And if no one has it, when 4-5 guys are all growing out 10 packs, it increases the odds of finding what you are looking for.

No kidding.....having to make a big order because shipping was crazy expensive...mailing cash...waiting for it to get there....waiting for the shipment back and waiting for it to clear customs..... and In General the seed prices have dropped and the quality and gone way up. It’s so easy it’s fun now.

Dynasty disappointed me with one I see is now sold out on JBC site.
His caramel candy kush wasn't nearly as good as when I purchased it from a different seedbank.

Yea well my 2nd royal northern thunderfuck looks mediocore thus far, thoughts of killing it is crossing my mind...Also the attitude freebie blue fire and blue widow is in early flower both with no smell and no trichs, probably also trash, not to mention they took months to veg to this point...
My first royal gorilla was also trash, the second one looks way better then the first, hopefully it can redeem this waste of money

Attitude freebies are trash 99% of the time. Ya never know if they are just relabeling old, crappy stock that they couldnt sell. The only potentially worthwhile ones are the full breeder pack promo's.

They aren't a scam, have you not heard of their colab with Sherbinski? They have had decent stuff over the years. The name is misleading for sure but the stuff they just dropped seems to be getting better.
