That is interesting after a little research I found: salicylic acid
This is the ingredient that is in Aloe Vera, Cloning Hormones and Willow (Still not 100 % sure what this is- looks like a stick with leaf buds). Apparently this is the magic ingredient. Although, Aloe Vera has minimal amount compared to the "Willow".

Alright lol, they are the growth tips of the weeping willow tree you mentioned on page 1, they contain the most growth hormones, but the salicylic acid is present in all the bark of the willow. You get a cup of water, about 20 branch tips, cut them up the side, and soak them in the cup for an afternoon to make your rooting tea. My grandma taught me how. a weaker tea for hardwood or lignified plants, and a stronger tea for fresh, apical tips.

Right on, Lye. And thank you for clarifying the willow thing, haha.

So I will be updating again on Wed. When I update my other grow log. I checked everything out last night and everything is happy and healthy. No roots yet but it has only been a couple of days.

Alright so it's been about a week ish. No roots yet.
A couple observations:
- Clones that were dipped started rougher but seem to be more on top now, when compared to the un-dipped.
- The rez smells fresh... Not sure how else to explain it but my other aero units smell like an aquarium or something.
- No root bumps as of yet.

Here are a few pics of the last couple days:

We shall check back in another couple of days. Will be out of town again this weekend. So update maybe next week.

I am a little worried that we will not get roots in the hopeful 14 days. I would expect to at least see tiny bumps at this point.

A good point has been brought up to me.

I took clones from all over the SNOG. Clones may root at different times and some will be stronger than others. A better experiment would be to take clones from the same locations. Unfortunately the Mother Plant only had enough for the 12.

*Disclaimer* I am not a professional. My goal is to find out if Aloe Vera will aid in my process. I travel a lot and need a system that is self sufficient. So if this works it is a success.

Please feel free to post questions and comments. This is for everyone. When I was using Google searches, I found a lot of incomplete stuff. The more info the better. Post away.

We will keep on going until all the clones root or they all die... I will complete this log. <----Brought to you by wake 'n' bake.

Well I guess I should have added another question to the poll... "Nah you suck those things will never root"

No Roots and it is now day 17. They are still fairly healthy but my cloner is leaking like crazy and I can't fix while it is wet. So we are crossing fingers hoping for the best. I will probably take some rockwool cutting to be safe. Since It is time to switch over the rooms.

Here are the pics any ways.

Tomorrow is the first weekend I get to stay home in a while. So I'll be working on the rooms and trying to dial everything back in.

Sweet!

I seem to have better results in spring and summer with my home made cloner.....I think cold water temps make cuttings root a lot slower.

i put my air cloner on hold. was taking to long. went back to old faithful root riot cubes. i mist them 2 times a day and they are on a heat pad. this set is all reveg 24 of them. ill only keep 6 and then give another 2 of them away. i was lazy and didnt make them so its gonna be fun. i know what the buds look like for each strain so ill be able to sort them easy enough.

So far my conclusion on Aloe Vera... = It doesn't hurt, haha. Haven't done any tests using my aero units but I will say that the cloner smells clean. Not like an aquarium.

Maybe I'll try throwing a spear in there with every water change during the new veg.

Well We have roots it only took... lol Way to long. Plus a horrible leak. Anyway will be throwing away this unit and trying again.

Good news is it appears they will all eventually root except for maybe one or two. But who cares they look like shit and I would call this one a fail. Thanks for following along everyone.

My experiment proves nothing.

I'll post pictures of the roots tomorrow and how horrible the tops look. PH was out of whack for a while. But this does show that you can completely neglect the clones in this system and still wind up getting some to root.
