Very nice jig!! Wasn't expecting to see that in those pics. For some reason I thought you had a much smaller crappy grow....... i was wrong there!LOL!!!!!
I'm glad it wasn't the other way around... glad you like it.

And thanks a lot for the kind words jordisgarden. It means a lot, and I am very proud of what 'we' have done... I so couldn't have done this without y'all...

But we'll save the gushing for when I'm smoking it.

Here are terrible trich pics... you can't really tell but I tried to get pics of the Amber ones so you guys could see.

Good luck (you'll need it)

Haha, I never thought of that, but now... It is my new dream. I dream of flying often, but now I will also dream of being a tiny tiny spider that has found it's way into my garden... and I would have a tiny tiny spider size bong with me. (i like spiders)

I love it.

Yea man, i said whoa out loud when i saw your new pics. Its wonderful what a spare closet can do isn't it. When you first started i bet you didn't realize how full it was going to get. Earning that scrogking name right? Great job with the trich pics. I was reading up on some hydroponics literature the other day and i read a passage that loosely stated that hydroponics in general speeds up the whole plants life cycle. Meaning that the plant matures through vegetative, flowering, and fruiting quicker than in traditional growing methods. I think your grow may be a nice example of this. I'll have to send you a link to the e-book.

"WHAT'D YOU DO?!?" tommy boy reference. now all i can think about is what i want to compare. I don't know if i'll want to try out specific products as much as specific minerals like say sodium nitrate instead of the potassium nitrate I'm using now. I think that may be a better reference point for me and well others as well as you could look at not only the npk ratios of different commercial fertilizers you could also look at which specific chemicals the fertilizers were derived from. I may have to take you up on your offer though its rather tempting.

WOW, Looking great!

Also, try to autofucus your camera on an object as close as you want the the up-close shot, continue holding the shutter button halfway down (as you have to depress it to get it to focus) then pan over to your subject. Does that help? Is there a setting of "M" for Macro or a picture of a flower to set mode to?

Thanks for all the support and advice guys.

So I've been really lazy on the daily updates so here are a few in a row...

Today I drained the rez and gave the girls a new batch of water and nutes.

Here's what they got: 25 gal RO, 410mL + 410 mL of Advance Flower A + B, 140mL Potash+, 95mL Max Flower, 50mL Silica, 200mL Cal-Mag Plus, 240mL FloraNectar, 30mL Zone, 80mL 30% pH down [6.25 -> 5.45]

Over the course of the night the pH rose up to 5.99 so I gave it another 40mL 30% pH down. [5.99 -> 5.70]

Once filled the temp was 61.5 f. with 1540 ppm. Much lower than the 2000 it was a couple weeks ago.

Other than that not much more to report... the plants are about the same... it's my first time so I have no way to tell, but I think it is because of the bubbles (or lack off) that is slowing things down. I'm not bitching, it's just funny how the trichs were just marching in... every day it looked like more sugar, and more pistols... but things are just slow now. Everything is beautiful though, I really can't complain about much. Buds everywhere. I'm still pulling the odd fan leaf here and there, some leaves are shading 3-4 tiny tops.

pics are spread out through the past 3 pages. sorry.

the two pics below are of the latest version of potash+ and the old version. I asked DM and they said it has a really long shelf life, so no expiration worry, and the mixtures were different on the two 0.7-4-11 vs. 1-5-11. I guess the difference is becuase of US regulations. Strange.

Nothing really happened today at all. I slept a lot, worked around the house. The plants look great.

I did toss around the idea of having the screen grow. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do something about the big shoots along the sides, some are leaning over already under weight, so I can't imagine when things start fattening up.

I think I'm going to put up a couple squares wide along the tops of the outer branches... I don't know what I'm going to do about the door side... I guess I will just have something going across the doorway.

Cat was being bad...

This is the day everything changed... I went to the hydro store and picked up a jewelers loupe. I got home and saw Amber trichs... see the previous few pages for the ensuing panic. I freaked out like I messed everything up, but thanks to you all I calmed down and began the final stretch.

I also noticed a bug today... I'm not worried about it too much though.

Not that I am going to stick to it for a date's sake, but I think the chop will come in 2 weeks. We'll see.

yea man get to those big nugs before its to late. Once my fan/light fell my colas will not hold them selfs up anymore. I did put some string from side to side of the room to hold up a few but that was at start now its to full to put more string up, you might want to just put somthing(string) from corner to corner holding the nugs back to the wall let the string be a little loose so they can lean and there not smashed on the wall.

Are you going to keep that Rubbermaid res for your next grow ??? I saw another thread were the guy used I believe a Stanley Tuff Box, two guys can stand on top of it with no problem.

I was thinking about the string thing, the only problem is that they are leaning sideways into eachother, and I want the screen thing to keep the saparate as much as possible.

As for my next rez, I really want to see how much my roots filled this one. I think I'll use mabe two 15 gal tanks next to eachother. Only fill them with 12 gal each or so. Also, I think I might get some clear tanks this time. With my divider, and the tops taped, the water shouldn't get any light for algae, and then I can see the roots and bubbles and stuff. I'm thinking I'll just hang something over the front of it for when the door is open.

When are we getting more pics on your journal?

Today was a big day... not only did the girls get new water and nutes, but their hot tub action bubble system got fixed, and they got started on the Gravity.

I drilled new holes in the lid so the airstones could fit through. I bent a clothes hanger a bit to serve as a poker type thing, used to get the airstones as close to the bottom of the root mass as possible. I lost one of the 6 new airstones I bought in the process so I have 5 stones under 5 plants, with one having a loose airhose end under it. Also the airstone that had not been clogged from before is now clogged.

For overnight I rigged one of the muffin fans to blow air into the room, (where the intake is on the bottom of the door). I did this in hopes of keeping humidity down overnight.

The gravity calls for 1mL per gallon, that would be around 25mL for me... I only added 20mL.

For the other stuff I added like this:

20% - Advance Flower A+B
30% - Potash+, Max Flower
50% - Cal-Mag Plus
70% - Silica
100% - Zone, FloraNectar

I raised the light 10" and left it there... as per Gravity instructions.

I also had a rookie mistake extravaganza. I used the same amount of pH down as I did last time... only problem is there were hardly any nutrients in the water this time, and those nutrients have buffers, so... my pH went from 6.3 to 4.2. I waited an hour and no change, so I added 8mL of pH up... that took it up to 5.6... all good right, well an hour later it was 6.0... and I knew it would climb, so I added some more pH down, and got it down to 5.33. I just stopped then.

The worst part is I thought each time I was adding stuff that there was less buffer in the water, but did nothing about it, and I thought to go slow and see how much it changes things, but I didn't. Stupid, but not the worst thing ever.

I have some beautiful pictures for you guys but I can't upload them... I'll try again later.

I always tell myself I won't be soft with my kid, but we'll see when it happens... I'll probably do whatever he/she wants.

i feel bad that i inspired the poor choice of a loupe for you and i apologize.
It's all good, I'm going to have my wife swing by and exchange it for more chemical... never a waste to spend money at the hydro shop as long as I can trade. And anyhow the hydro guy steered my towards it as well.

How's things coming along on your end?

Nice, ha i always keep the receipt as well. I think i may swing by radioshack to get that microscope, got a few bucks to spend. I liked using the loupe, i've got pretty good eyes and i liked seeing a good amount of trichs intead of the 1 or 2. It helped me keep from getting ocd and trying to check them all .

Thanks for the interest, Things are going good. Changed the rez on my flowering unknown strain today. I pushed the concentration of my solution 10% to raise the ppm. I'm experimenting with raising the concentration 10% every rez change as it flowers while watching for nute burn. Trying to see how high i can get it (that sounds funny). I adjusted for an initial slight potassium and molybium deficiency and resolved them. i adjusted for a slight Magnesium deficiency this rez change and am hoping i have resolved this one as well. We will see.

I also have started to spread out a few more of the larger colas on the plant.

The blueberry clone is doing great and i moved it out of the cloner over to the DWC bucket last monday. It's root was 6 inches long and had tons of branching. The blueberry clone now has two large tap roots with a about 30%ish more branching than the one root when it was transferred. It has also started new growth from the top of the clone. The clone was taken from a flowering plant so the new growth emerged from right out of the flower. Its really wierd looking its like a Frankenstein monster. I feel like i brought it back from the dead or something:mrgreen:.

I am still waiting on the buckets. I have a feeling something is wrong with my order as i haven't been charged and haven't heard from the company. I sent them an email a little while ago so we'll see what happens.

I am linking pictures of the two plants. I hope you don't mind.

1. BB Clone
2. BB Clone, more on top
3. An interior of the plant flowering bud
4. Main cola
5. Main cola growing past where i tied it down
6. The whole flowering Plant
7. The orange crush seedling i started last Saturday

Things look good... can you tell a difference with the new light? Do you like it?

That flowering clone thing is weird.

And I love the flip flop aero holder, that's great. It's hard to beat 99c.
