These guys say it perfectly

Yes tested Pin heatsink in different colors. Temp difference was too small to show any differences in performance.
I will test 'Black Slate 1' VS 'Blue Slate 1' as soon as i get blue once. Will be cool test with FLIR. I want to keep using FLIR , otherwise Steve will take it back. o_O
Right. Those are different colors of anodized aluminum surfaces.

Crinkle finish is a different process altogether, it's commonly seen on aluminum parts that need to shed heat. The best example I can think of is its use on Harley Davidson motorcycle engines.

Having just done a bit of research, this seems to be a painted on coating and therefore unlikely to improve actual heat dissipation characteristics.

First post here, have been hanging around for a while and wanted to know if the quantum boards can be posted to Australia?

I had ass-u-med the 260 kit was pretty much just 2 135 kits but only 1 plug/driver. Would there be a way to daisy chain a few of the 135's together to reduce the number of things to plug in?

Thank you for your time and attention!
yeah you can use some wagos on the power cords and tie 2 or 3 drivers to one plug.i would say 2 for 120v and 3 drivers on 240v.i have 4 drivers per plug on 20 amp breakers @240v no problems at all with inrush currents which was a hot topic here a few days ago haha

What will those two kits cost? I am wondering on whether to buy 3-4 of that same kit for a 5x5. Also, how far apart would you say is best for spacing them out? TIA
prices on product page. updated pics for 135/260kits
Not sure about 5x5 spacing. Just start with evenly spread out. Use phone lux meter app to move around lamps until you get the desired even coverage.

@robincnn I see that you have added a potentiometer to the HLG site. Will you be offering the Meanwell Type B drivers as an option to the 90/135/260 watt kits available next week?

i ran the franken-boards for a couple of days hooked to the kill-a-watt meter. it pulls 308 watts, 117 volts, and 4.2 amps from the wall. one buck was set to 2.0 amps and 44.5 volts, the other was 3.5 amps at 42.4 volts. if i did the math right (which i had checked by an electrical engineer) thats over 75% efficient, with hobby shop parts.
both lights will run higher, which should = higher efficiency, so i'm pretty happy. we've since found meanwell power supplies at just a couple of dollars more, and they ought to be at least 5% more efficient, so when i build the 4 of these i intend to flower under, thats what i plan to go with, whats you've seen so far, with the power supplies swapped out for meanwells

Girl Scout Glue - Flowering Time !
3 x Quantum @ 181 watt draw ( dimmed )
12/12 cycle .....

Love these damn things .... Noticed light spread " evens out " the canopy without any training. I added a G8 Deep Red ( 630-660 NM ) led for testing. Plants will be on DynaGro Bloom next week ... I just watered in Open Sesame ( Fox Farm ) into 6.5 PH water. She will be thristy again in about 2-3 days then going in with feed.

I defoliated just a couple of inner fans that were shrively for air flow but lookin good.
I prefer the B type Drivers for more user control during grow.

WITH G8 RED SPECTRUM LIGHT ADDED.

Waiting on new stock to show up - drafting up a new light. Maybe a Chilled / Quantum combo.
