DIY with Quantum Boards

is there a single driver that can power 9 of the qb120?
9 of those would be cool in a 4x4 tent
I don't know the answer to that one. But if not, you could run multiple drivers. Some guys do that even if they don't have to, as a redundancy: if one dies on you, your whole light isn't out of commission. That said, I'm given to understand that a Meanwell dying is a very rare occurrence.

that one is 480w max
9 120 boards can put out 540 max
i'd be losing out on 60w when i want to drive it to its max potential during flower
is there a better option?
If you run the boards in parallel, you could maybe go with the HLG-600-24? I know parallel isn't the favored method for hooking up these boards, but I also know some people do it. Thermal runaway is the concern when running parallel, but you can add fuses to protect the boards, just in case. Not sure how real a danger there is, to be honest.

I think HLG just plays it REALLY safe with wiring these boards. They try and "dummy" proof them as much as possible since they know we are not all electricians. And we are gonna still build them. And mistakes are gonna happen. But an electrical mistake can be a big one.

I got my XL 260 today.

the packaging was much better, but not A molded Styrofoam like they said on GML/show #28 maybe that's just the 550's

also the hangers were upgraded as well. I felt like they cut the plug in side of the input for the driver better, because I didn't have to shorten it. you still have to on the driver side though. this maybe a case-by-case thing.

assembled in less then 10 minutes by memory.

..and oh all my screws were black, I had a strange mix of sliver and black my last order. and now I kinda want the 3rd board........
