DIY with Quantum Boards

I've not seen LEDs on a light mover, would be interesting to try! And I'd run that light full power, take advantage of that light mover!

On a totally different subject, right now I have a Kind 750 on a light mover in the center and 4 qb 120's 3000k, two at each end. I have a new 2 qb 288 3000k fixture that I'm thinking of swapping with the Kind. The 288 maxes at 294 watts, prob run it at less, the kind is 430 watts. Is this a better lighting combo?

I also have 4 qb 120 4000k and 4 qb120 5000k, for the veg room, thinking of moving the kind with the mover there and adding the 4000k fixtures to the flower room.

Coming up to the last week or so. Just wondering how important light is in the final week finishing.

Have 520w in flower tent of QB and ideally would use it for a week of veg and use my veg tent which only has 200w in to finish.

Would this effect yield much for the almost harvest plants?

@Stephenj37826 or any1 plz help
list so far is
8 x quantum 288 3000k
4x HLG-240H-C2100B MEAN WELL
qb288 wired in series and will get about 120w per board so 240w per pair or driver so more options for spacing and heights plus if I did happen to lose a driver to failure I only lose 2 panels.
I am mounting them in pairs of 2 boards
8x slate heatsinks single
Hanging kits x 4
Dimmer switch x 4
Wires to connect
(What coverage should i expect?
HAVE I COVERED EVERYTHING?
I have read a tonn just need help ,is my driver a good choice not sure is cc or cv drivers are a better option for my setup ?
Thx for all advise so far ,Humple ;)

Well the HLG 550 which is the HLG-480h-C2100A pushes four QB288's to cover veg 6'x6' and bloom 4.5'x4.5' or 4'x5', so I would say twice that if you have them spread out the same and running them 18"-28" above the canopy.

I just bought 4 QB288, a HLG-480h-C2100B (dimmable) and am expecting something similar.

Coming to the end of the second run with the QB's and I'm even more impressed than the first. Running the 4x 250w XL's on full I've seen an increase in density, terps and frost.

Are you planning on running the 4 boards on the HLG-480h-C2100B (dimmable)?
I was considering using 1 of these driver for every 2 qb288 ???

when first released, a sheet of aluminum was used by many as a heatsink and worked well, and still makes for an economical alternative. it doesn't take much with QB's to dissipate they heat they generate

Well, I reached out the HLG about heatsinks and never heard back so I'm making my own. I bought a 18"x 30" 1/8" sheet of T6061 and start with that instead of heatsinkusa and rails.

I bought a HLG-480h-C2100B last night. I just need a potentiometer, some Wagos, and a little bit of 18AWG and i can start.

Does anyone have a link to where I can find the 4 point light hanger so i dont habe to use yoyos?

I think 1 480hlg driver for ever 2 boards might be pushing a little hard. I'm running 1 320hlg driver for ever 2 288 and have poteniometers on the way to dim them down a bit.

I bought this off of eBay before looking at who was selling it. There are cheaper options on his website www.metalremnants.com

I actually did get a message back from HLG today so I may end up with a full heatsink if the side roll in my favor. Fingers x-ed

I'm not sure light movers may be as productive as they are with point sources that would have fixed shadows without movers.
The diffused light we produce with COBS and strips kind of hits all the leaves from all angles anyway.

Im running the 480h ans boards in series for simplicity. I think even a 240hlg would be ok for 2 boards. I just went off what they used on the hlg550 but got the dimmable flavor. You could look at the HLG website and just grab the 2 board driver in their pics. Also their QB288 project page has a huge list of drivers on it and how many boards each runs

My Slate 2 just came in! By the end of the night, I'll be rocking two 135w QB288 fixtures, one at 3500k and the other at 3000k. My 250w HPS is going to be seeing far less use from here on out...
Did you mount the two 288's together or are they independent? If you mounted them together I'd like to see a pic please.

This was the other direction I considered for my 4 boards. 2 x qb288 and 2 x 240h-c2100b. Run one pair for gentle babies then turn on the other pair for something meaner. I decided to just be mean, with a dimmer.
