DIY with Quantum Boards

Lol, I guessing you was just yanking my chain. Me thinks you own qb120s
You asked for it with a question like that.....you are the type of consumer companies love....hence the led HPS bulb replacement....

both combo's run the power supply at max, the lumen output will be more or less same if you run them through the calculator, one will have a more efficient lumen per watt ratio because you increase the number of led's

yes, 48 more led's, makes it more better

More led = more lumens (at full till you are leaving 5000 lumens by using the out dated QB120)

purchasing the next board ensures you are using fresh led's, and led's should be replaced at the same pace as HPS bulbs
120s aren't outdated ... Just as good as any other board or configuration.

Well it wasn’t to replace any of my exsisting lights or even to be in the same grow space. I’m just wanting to throw some boards up in my garage for some vegetables plants. I’ve done decided to stick with 24v be it some qb96 or qb120 since I’ve already got both

And really it was a serious question and I’m not some dumb fuck.

Come on, man, that wasn't cool. Not everyone knows everything. I'm willing to bet you don't know everything either. Nothing wrong with someone asking a question. That's how we learn. Smoke some more.

Looking for some more advice :) I am putting together a 3x3 QB132 array for my 4'x4' tent. So far I have one row done and currently running, and those three boards are powered by an HLG-240H-C1750A. They're pretty bright, and I plan to run them at less than max output to get some more efficiency... but I'd like the ability to crank them to their max 2000ma current if I have good reason to do so. Would it be safe to run the remaining two rows on an HLG-240G-C2100A (1 driver for each 3 boards)? I imagine I'd just need to keep the internal pot turned down a little below max and confirm with a multimeter that the current is <= 2000ma. Do I have that right?

I like the idea of having 3 rows of lights that can be dimmed, raised, and lowered separately -- it's a compromise between one giant fixture and tons of individually adjustable lights. I like to grow a variety of plants at once, so having the ability to put the short plants on one side and tall ones on the other is pretty attractive.

Here's some stuff I learned since my last post. Hope it helps someone!

- Making an aluminum frame is much easier if you use rivets instead of self-tapping screws. I just clamped the pieces together, drilled 4mm holes for everything, and riveted the corners with 4mm aluminum rivets.
- A "center punch" really helps you drill your holes where you intended to. I tried a few different types of bits before I got a center punch and they all wandered a bit before digging in.
Looked like my post was going to get lost so I emailed hlg and got an answer right away:

Hello

2100ma is fine with QB 132
only issue is that hlg-240h-c2100a can actually put more than 2200mA with Io all the way up.
Please dimm it slightly and it will work fine.

Where did you get the idea that LEDs need replacing like HID bulbs do????? NO they don't. An HPS bulb is good for 2000-4000 hours. And LED is good for 50,000 to 100,000 hours. In other words HPS is good for 6 - 9 months, vs 6-12 years for LED.

@Stephenj37826 @robincnn Does the email me when in stock feature work from the website ?
Also how long till QB288 3000k boards are in stock ? I thought with them being made in the US they wouldnt be out of stock anymore or maybe i misunderstood.
I still need about 27 more boards to finish my current project. Would love to be able to grab those within the next week or two :)
