DIY with Quantum Boards

Has anyone tried active cooling with their quantum boards? i just ordered some thermal grease and a fan and it seems to be doing a lot better now. The heat sink and driver used to be just barely too hot to touch for more than a second, id estimate that to be 70c. Its still pretty damn hot but now its ok to hold on to, probably 55c. the plant i had under it wasnt doing well the past week but as soon as i turned the fan on, the tent heated a bunch and the plant perked up to my surprise. Supposedly, we could get some very small efficiency gains with this as well as heating up your grow area will speed up photosynthesis because LEDs dont produce radiation or whatever. I went with a 120mm "Blower" type thats on amazon for 15.99$. It seems very durable, has a long cable, daisy chain, adjustable and fits my 135w kit perfectly.

My 2 135`s drawing 135w each from the wall are currently 23C higher than tent temp after 7 hours on. Measured near center between the fins using cheap ir thermometer. No direct air flow over lights.
I do have some 120mm PC case ball bearing USB fans if summer ever arrives. Snowing nearby yesterday.

Aw crap I’m like a month past 1 year! Ordered a new one though. Next I’ll see how Meanwells warranty works. Not sure if I have bad luck with drivers but this is my 2nd one that’s done it.

Hempy quantums... preflip

Pulled the plants for some adjusting to the LST... pulling them a little more open.
Like when the orthodontist used to twist your wires on your god damn braces with pliers (some of you know what I’m talking about ) SMH .

They are daily drinkers now ... did a simple flush ( for salt ) and gave them a dash of FF Boomerang.
That is one of the “clearance “ grabs from Orchards Supply Hardware going out of business sale.
Grabbed 3 bottles Boomerang / 3 bottles of BEMBE / Kelp me Kelp you / peat plugs / warming pads / trays (with domes ) .... and a couple more Recipe 420 soil mix bags ... I went looking for ACTUALLY Kil a watt meter plugs .... but I think others got the hint and grabbed them .... bastards.

For those looking for things you can use ... grab the ALUMINUM ANGLE they are just sitting there.
Perfect for future rig building .... and the 18 gauge spools. Look for mosquito dunks and similar (forgot the other brand ) and similar pest control ( capt. jacks ) .

Anyways .....

I will keep doing Hempy for the rest of the year I think. Always loved the accelerated growth and easier maintenance. Plants always look better than my soil grows.

GH MAXIGROW / MAXIBLOOM ( POWDER )
TAP WATER ( 24 HOUR GAS OFF and Airstone )
PH 5.9
PERLITE / VERMICULITE 3:1

FOLIAR ( during veg ) : Optic Foliar Overdrive
@ once a week - stop at flip

Fox Farm Boomerang - after preflip flush ( salt removal ) - 1/4 strength with water after.

But as the sunshine has gone Mrs Mugabe is now transplanted to a big feck off pot and put in a trailer and wrapped in a tarp to be driven to her new home....

I drove in front of the convoy in case we run into any "problems"

Delivery was a success.

ooohhhhh man! I had my first greenhouse blown away leaving 10, five gallon growbags standing out in the open with 2 Ft. plants in them! Thankfully no neighbors were home..........

Well she rode the storm as best as she could ........ :spew:
