DIY with Quantum Boards

V1 boards are killing it beyond expectations. Custom 240W 4 board HLG v1 setup w each board running @ 60W. Lights are 2" off tops of colas w no light burn. Covering an 18" x 48" tray with 4 plants in 2 gallon pots. Have 2 of these running now in a 4x5, have 3rd heatsink w boards mounted but ran out of wire. Waiting on Amazon and will have 3rd fixture hung and post pics over weekend.

Some pics of Lemon Lime Punch keeper pheno @ F54. Smells like sour lime peel flavored smarties and grapes. Tastes same but with lime aftertaste. Strong punch w soaring highs.

This is my third round, had pulled the last 2 rounds at F63. Better environmental controls and flipping to lights on at night resulted in having less temp fluctuations, and made it finish up almost a week earlier! Everything already cloudy and starting to turn amber so they coming down this weekend. FFOF/Malibu Bus/Perlite + top dressing w EWC + Recharge 1x a week.

Shooting for 2oz per plant. Got 9.5 oz off 4 last round. This round the buds are so heavy i had to run wires to hold them up. Could knock someone out with these colas.

It may suck but the communication from these guys is always concise and factual, helpful also. That is gold today.

Oh I agree completely. It sucks because I wanted to build a 4 Diablo light and have started selling off my spare boards to fiance it......

This is HLG's company thread. Don't post these counterfeit boards here, there are threads elswhere for chinese copies. Have that board sphere tested and we'll see how good it is compared to these boards. You know, they're cheaper for a reason........

I don’t order online often so was totally unaware. Other than that 2 boards for cheaper than 1 HLG board and both working great. Impressed with the quality was expecting worse. The length of wire to the driver could be longer mines is tight to the furthest away light (drivers outside tent) but think will be okay. How easy is it to lengthen the wire on these? Anyone done before?

I was right there with you, I pretty much got rid of all my qb96’s. Maybe HLG will bring back the diy with them already put together or atleast bring the diablos on a cheaper option like the hlg600 is

Might be worth contacting HLG via email to ask if they'd be willing to sell a few boards without the kit. Their concern is people wiring it incorrectly, so maybe if you convey your competence they'll make an exception? Can't hurt to try!

Might work, I will admit I’ve murdered a bunch of boards mainly 120’s and 132’s but i have no problem buying one of the diy kits pre assembled for $20-40 more

That was exactly what I was gonna do .... pull the OG V1 304s and do a diablo swap ..... but nooooooooo. :cuss:

Guess some noobs blew up too many and we gotta suck it. So hopefully we can go with diy With the diablos.

Well .... now that I vented .... impending chop time.

2 KKP S1 layered soil grows
1 gallon bags
( seeds from selfing KKP experiment )
Approx. 10 weeks ...

Last top feed was last Monday ... water / kelp
One dose of MOAB / water at week 7

Fade has started on KKP #1 ... KKP #2 is still very green and running differently than the other.
Leaves are more Sativa like but rocky dense nugs - with purp colors and yellowish triches .
( read somewhere it signals a higher CBD profile / not sure ... but I have grown a strain that did the same thing. )

Gotham limited plants will go on a little longer ....

I'm sure many of you won't believe the following, but a little while ago I experimented with Kryonaut on a single B spec board for vegging which was mounted on a single Slate 2 board with Kryonaut TIM and reached an operating temp of about 52C without any other cooling. I decided to add a 140mm fan to the unit and see what happens.

Operating temp with 140mm fan mounted directly on the heatsink in conjunction with Kryonaut running at about 140 watts: 33.4C

It looks like just placing the fan (EDIT: directly) on top of the heatsink gave the best results.

And two years later I've finally defeated the spider mites........... fucking little terrorists! I've not seen a one this grow. Hope I'm not putting my foot in my mouth lol!

I just caught a very small patch of those bastards on a small guy. I'm taking an at least five prong approach. First I am gonna put DE all over the room and area, then going to use an old makeup brush with a solution of iso and dawn, soak it down, and brush along the grain, then douse it again. Then I'm gonna hit it with Azamax after a few days, and then when that dries some Neem/kelp tea every few days. I am determined to murder them. I just got rid of some fungus gnats with Israelensis bacteria. I accidentally let the ghost peppers touch, not good. Like a middle school dance, we must leave room for jesus.

How would you recommend murdering them best?

On another note, slate 2s are in stock, fingers crossed for 648s baby!
