DNA Rocklock Problems

Hi all lets start off by stating that I am by no means bashing DNA Genetics just trying to find out whats wrong.I got a pack of Rocklock Fem in there breeder pack from Attitude.I germed all six and five popped planted all five in FF soil along with some other strains at the same time almost 2 weeks later all strains have grown very well except Rocklock.None of them ever popped the surface when I went to dig them out I noticed they grew just a little under the soil and died.Has anyone eles had these issues or could this have been a bad pack?Ive grow almost all the DNA strains at this point and none have sucked this bad.

Thanx
Smokey

Well - I know you said the rest did fine but have a look at your germination & planting methods - for me I put in a cup of water till they pop and then bury 2mm to 3mm deep with taproot facing down - ever since I switched to this method I am 100% now with about 100 seeds from various breeders while using other methods I had more like 70% - you can try to contact DNA but it is said they have bad customer services - maybe try attitude support. It could be you packed the dirt to tight also.

I actually have a rocklock fem I got as a freebie from attitude awhile back, it is doing exceptionally well, I put in a cup of water and the next day it poped - I prepared a cup of straight FFOF of the same size and watered it in 3mm deep with that cup of water poored the water into the Ocean forest letting the seed drop with the water into its hole and lightly covered it up.

I put a folded paper towel in the middle a plate. I wet the towel with any old water, actually this is an instance where you can use plain tap water, the chlorine would kill pathogens on the outside of the seed. Then I cover the plate with a frisbee. Stick it on top of the fridge. Keep moist. Check back in 30 or so hours and you will see some have popped their tap roots. Stick a pencil in the dirt to make an indentation. Be really gentle with the seed when you place it tap root down.

It sounds like the method that deprave has should work fine also, good luck....

Oh and by the way I got a freebee Feminized Rocklock with my order of TGA dairy Queen. I popped the seed and made clones from it. The mother plant is presently in week 3 of flowering. Got a real interesting smell that I can only describe as the smell of black pepper. Good luck

This could have been a problem with your soil density. Maybe it was too packed down or also too water saturated. Not saying this is why this happened but just a possibility

I like to use those expandable jiffy peat pellets to start my seeds too. If you wring out the excess water before you use them then you will prevent water saturation problems. Then once the plant sprouts roots thru the bottom of the peat pellet, you transplant it.

With you on that idea. I always use peat pallets. I plant it once I get a sprout. Never had too many problems with peat pallets

I feel like you read my mind because thats exactly how I do it also ever since I started using the R/O cup of water method I have never had any bean not pop accept with the Rocklock. Some of the other strains I had popped where DNA gear too thats why Im saying I cant believe this happened I just wanted to see if anyone eles had any issues with this strain.Thanx for the info though I know so few people that believe in using just water in a cup it's so simple yet so effective.

My Rocklock was small in comparison to my other plants. And ended up being male. So it died. The end. lol

Really enjoying the smell coming from the Rocklock mother plant. I'm looking at the new buds and I'm thinking it should be a good producer. I got two freebees from Attitude with my last order. Rocklock Feminized and Lemon Skunk Feminized (two pops and lots of clones). Rocklock is also showing some good crystalization ie.. lots of trichs.

My rocklock is doing well also, showed sex pretty quick (a week or so), and stretched 2x her size when I put her into flower at about 12 inches in height, she is in organic soil fox farms fresh mix but I still give her mollases and big bloom and she takes it just fine..she is in perfect health with good buds just starting, really look forward to her finishing up.

I put in flower a white russian about 2 weeks later and so far the white russian is kind of kicking the rocklocks ass, the russian started flower right away and looks caught up to the same stage as the rocklock, they look very much alike almost identical that is why I mention it.

Untopped she stands about two feet high with fairly wide leaves of medium size, node spacing is not very good to be honest but its not bad either, about 4-5 inches or so between most nodes. It seems pretty balance between indicia and sativa however the sativa traits I would say are a bit more dominant with my pheno....The pheno I have is 60% Sativa & 40% indicia if I had to guees by appearence even though this strain is made from breeding of sativas for the most part (aside from the kush)

Overall so far I give this strain a 6.5 out of 10, better than average, not really a fair rating as it has just started budding but as far as veg and early flowering its worked out pretty good.

Thanks for that detailed grow review, I'm currently starting my 2nd week with my Rocklock and the Cole Train I started at the exact same time is miles ahead of it.

I'm hoping that my hydro Rocklock clones will get bigger than my dirt ones. Actually, hydro works out better for me in general. I will just make sure I veg them a little longer so I will have monsters when they finish, I have lots of ceiling space. Really interesting smell that I'm getting from the buds.

deprave-you are so right on the white russian plants. that white russian is the bomb all day long. That is the dankest shit. It's a little heavy of a stone for walking around weed.
