UPS (pronounced OOPS v.) to break and/or lose a package in transit.

My ex-wife worked for UPS, she smoked meth in the parking lot with the other "hard workers." While on shift. UPS sucks, not because of one bad driver, but because of a whole infrastructure of not giving a shit.

LOL have a dog in this hunt, do we? :) too funny. Yeah back in time in another life my hub worked at the local UPS hub (briefly, very briefly), we can't discuss what the hub did at the hub but let's just say he did not work for UPS. But I do have some really glorious shots of a box of medical implants left on the floor where it had shot off the conveyor belt. Flight line vehicles driving around it. The hub was so thoughtful of my entertainment, back in the day, he put his morning newspaper next to it and shot me 35MM close-ups.

Took more than 5 days to have someone pick up the damn corneas and put them BACK on the conveyor. Having had to harvest cornea's in my day this is NOT something that made me happy. But at least now I don't ship UPS.

One last thing when you absofuckinglutely have to have your corneas overnight call mother MAC (AMC).

I had a few buddies work at a UPS processing plant a while back.

They purposefully break open boxes and then take the things inside. Recipient claims damage by UPS, UPS reimburses (as long as they had insurance of course).

They would usually do it to boxes going to convenience stores, like boxes containing cartons of cigarettes.

You know there are always a lot of decent people in a corporation. The problem is the bad apples.

I think the problem is more a cultural problem, with UPS. Excuses, a quick pay-out and forgetting it happened is a cultural norm. at UPS.

And, to your earlier question about my "dog in this hunt." Nah, I abandoned the bitch at her meth dealer/boyfriend's house as soon as I knew what was going on, and that was almost a decade ago, now... In business, and even in my current profession, I've had the misfortune of working directly with UPS employees on various levels, and they almost universally don't give a shit.

I have never had any real issues with UPS. I have never had a damaged package minus a black scuff here and there, I have never not received a package and it has always arrived when it was supposed to. The driver that delivers in my neighborhood(It has been the same guy for 10 years now)is pretty awesome. He always hides the packages in some way at our front door(Covers it loosely with something) never drives crazy through the neighborhood(Fed-EX drivers think my neighborhood is a Nascar track or something and they have to come in first)

DHL. I have had them ring my doorbell and then immediately turn around and leave, no package no note. One time I was at the window and waved.

Fed-Ex. I got woke up at 8am to a loud police type knock at the door, Fed-Ex guy says in a short rude tone as he shoves his little handheld thing into my chest "Sign for this!" I sign and he basically drops my package(A tall box he was leaning against) and walks away. No thank you, have a good day, nothing.

Yes I agree they have a corporate culture issue. But even then there are still good and decent people who work there. Even in the worst of sewers you can find a pearl. I just wouldn't recommend pearl diving in sewers. :)

As for dog in the hunt, how could I not help myself. That was such a gimme ;)

There are indeed good employees, at all levels, of UPS. Unfortunately, that corporate culture weighs them down, a lot.

Yeah, the ex-wife... What a package. Shipped her ass via UPS. LoL, I did leave it open for a snatch at the low hanging "fruit" I guess.
