Well this is the area which church fathers LOATHE to talk about.
Since I am not affiliated with any superstitions, I'll give it a go.
According to the "modern" interpretation of ONE account of jesus' life...he died around 33 C.E. (common era). There are two other accounts in the Bible however with one saying jesus died a century before that and one where herod kills Jesus putting his death at around 2 B.C.E.
Regardless, EVERYONE forgot about the man Jesus according to the Bible itself. Mark wrote the first Gospel at LEAST after 70 C.E., probably later. This leaves quite a gap for something which was supposedly monumental...
Enter into the gap Paul of tarsus (Saul) whose writings are some 80000 words and are the origin of all gospels to follow. There is a HUGE problem however with all of those writings by Paul.....
he never heard of jesus.
he never heard about a virgin birth
he never heard about the 'slaughter of the innocents (herod killing the babies)
he never heard about a nativity
he never heard about Mary, Joseph, John the baptist
he never heard about what went on in jerusalem
Paul knew only three things... Christ dies on the cross, is resurrected, and ascends into a heaven.
oh, so he did know something?
NO, Paul places all of these events not on EARTH, but in a mythical realm, which was the style of the day. Almost everone who was not a scribe wrote in allegories, not descriptive history. Paul and the following ANONYMOUS authors of the gospels were no exception. They never thought they were writing history, only the church does. This was the only way to get pagans to believe since they had heard all of this stuff before with Osiris, Dionysis, Mithra etc. They no longer believed in them either so they were not impressed with another myth. Especially one which was completely unoriginal. So the church had to make jesus REAL.... all the rest of the myths are untrue, BUT this one is REAL. No surprise that the church had to slaughter many thousands along the way who questioned it.
Paul was the link to the gospels and he never heard the story of Christ? Either Paul was completely delusional, thereby rending his writings as gibberish and consequently any gospels derived form him. OR, the Bible is simpy wrong wrong wrong.
Either way is a disaster for the church...one of the very reasons why they don't talk to the sheep about it.
out.
