I do not and would hope that those of you that do, do so in a manner that you expect reciprocated. I give my fellow motorists my utmost concentration. I don't play with GPS or dashboard gadgets, nor do I take phone calls or text while driving. I do not drink and drive, therefore I do not smoke and drive. How many of you are now going to admit to driving with kids in the car while high? There is a time and a place for it. While it may be safer than alcohol, it doesn't make it OK to be high and drive.

Do you not put any stock in the scientific study that has been done, Serapis? And by the federal government, no less.

It has nothing to do with scientific studies. I don't trust myself driving a vehicle while stoned, so I don't. It's unfortunate that so many here obviously polled otherwise. That will go a long way in helping us dispell myths and rumours and aiding in legalization... ;p

There are plenty of people that also claim that drinking makes them a better driver.... I don't know about you, but If I hit someone, I won't be blaming anything but me.

thats great, you dont trust yourself so you dont, big props to ya, definitely shouldnt drive without trust. but dont call my situation unfortunate, i trust myself completely, have more stoned driving time than sober driving time. you know nothing about me or my habits. whats unfortunate is you comparing driving drunk to driving stoned, people who dont know any better are going to keep thinking that weed is just as bad as booze. if i hit someone, and it was my fault, then i would accept responsibility as well, but if it wasnt my fault and i was high....im not gonna say it was my fault just because i was high.

You brought alcohol to the table, I brought advil... man we have a lot of drugs on this table 8)

by the way this is a nice table.. mahogany?
i lol'ed at this!

i have had two accidents in my driving career, both before i turned 18, both sober.

i have had 4 or 5 tickets for speeding in my life, all sober.

i have never even come close to a citation while high. that means no close calls!

i drive like an ass when i'm sober. when i'm high, i am probably the most courteous guy out there. but this does not work the same for everyone.

for example, one of the very first times i drove while high, i had to pull over and stop because i could not feel my legs and it distracted me. also made it tough to operate the clutch pedal.

but nowadays, if and when i drive high, it is letter of the law type of driving. not so much when i am sober, as evidenced by the occasional ticket.

I do all the time, but I don't smoke joints when they are in the car. Once you get over being so righteous and all you might come to the understanding that nobody here would drive if it was dangerous. That's the wonderful thing about weed, you can function perfectly with it. There has been times, depending on the strain that I wouldn't drive, but most strains no problem. Of course I'm not your smoke a few puffs on the weekend kind of person. So yeah, it makes it perfectly OK to drive when I'm high. But when I'm high and listen to Dub I tend to forget where I'm going.

Yes really. Believe it or not 'what you consider being impaired' is actually the question.

You could tell me the effects of advil impairs me as a driver, and you would be correct - but the degree to which it impairs me and affects my driving could be argued.

Those studies seem to be in line with what everyone that 'can' drive stoned is saying.. 'slowed driving' 'if anything makes me pay attention more' etc.
Too bad i cant rep ya.

I do not drive impaired.

No one's life is of less importance to me than my own convenience.

If I know I will be driving, I do not imbibe. If I have been imbibing and I am called to go somewhere, I beg off. Or walk. Or have someone else drive me there. Or call a cab.
This exactly. For me impaired would be classified not in terms of a time limit, my mood, roll, etc can all effect the duration of the high, but if i can feel any kind of tightness around my eyes i know i'm being effected by it, regardless of what the extent, so i will not drive. I have driven stoned a few times in my past, i never crashed, i see that as no justification for doing so. I drove drunk a few times in my past and never crashed, doesn't mean it's safe, as i then proved by ya know what, crashing. Never say never  So nowadays, if i'm in control of a rolling hunk of metal, i do it knowing that i am responsible for what is happening, and only me.

Why chance someone life on a giggle.

Let's put it this way... if I drive sober. I'll end up in jail for mercilessly beating the shit out of some awful driver on the road.

Considering I just got back from driving from work and I'm typing online from my home... the answer would be yes, I drive stoned. 100% of the time.
