Do you need to flush when growing organically?

No, not really, but plants don't really need too much at the end..I mean you can give them stuff, but they won't really use it...so may as well save your nutes...

i feed with 50% Super tea (strong, personal mix) 50% water mix all the way untill harvest.

the plants taste better, have more trich's, get me higher..... and if your doing it right there are no salts anyways...

i always flush no matter what. i know they say it will be fine just go low on nutes at the end. maybe for smoking it's not so noticeable, but when using a high quality vape, it's very easy to notice just the slightest chemical taste, even with organics.

i dont think there are any salts in what i use. i make a tea with handful of ancient forest or ewc in paint strainer, a 2tbls per gallon maxicrop liquid fish, 2 tbls per gallon guano(1tbls indonesian 1tbls jamacian)
natures nectar K 1/2 tbls per gallon. a little molasses and tap water that has been dechlorinated and aerated.

The reason why i ask is because all my girls are growing great, they are at 56 days and im gonna let them go to 63 days. i think they will still extremly benefit from more nutes but i dont want my final product to taste bad harsh in anyway.

Do you think i can feed that stuff listed above till harvest?

I use EWC, N Guano, Wood ash, Morbloom, Liquid karma, Black storm (humic acids), Liquid kelp extract (local brand) and molasses in my super tea... , so mine actually has more salt than yours dose.... you will Defiantly be fine

Happy growing :D

With organic growing you add the organic matter in your nutrient solution, and then the bacteria in the soil breaks it down and feeds the plants. So even if you stop adding nutes at the end i wouldn't be surprised if there is still organic matter in your soil being broken down and fed to your plants by the bacteria. I mean im pulling this info out of my ass but thats how I understand organic growing so... would it really make much of a difference to the plants anyways if you stop feeding the last week? I will prolly stop just to save my nutes

Bingo. hit the nail on the head there buddy.

Then you know it well :D

The nitrogen and Phosphorous cycle are driven by bacteria. to "Flush" organic soil you would have to kill the bacteria, which would have to use salts or chemicals which are bad for the Buds, so its a catch 22. your best bet is to let it be, and keep the bacteria going. the bacteria will continue to break down nutes (regardless of feeding) as long as the nutrients are there to be broken down. so in the end, its almost impossible to "flush" organic mediums :D

I was doing a 2 week flush, but I shortened it to just a week. If you use any nutrients that come in a liquid form, I would recommend a 7-10 day flush. This really forces the plant to eat its reserves in the leaves, thus the fade and colors coming out. I am a firm believer that ANY liquid nutrient/supplement that you put in your plants will be absorbed by your plants, even if it is organic. This will affect the taste, thus I flush. Some of the nutrients in organics are readily available, some need to be broken down. If you use organic nutrients that are partially available, flush.

I have tried a shorter flush, and it didn't necessarily affect the taste, but the smoke was a bit harsher than it normally was. That is just my .02. :)

after doing more research i think im just gonna give just tap water for this last week. I do believe my girls might get a little more busty if i feed them more but i just dont wanna risk the taste. especially since i plan on drying for 5-7 days and then out to consumers.

im growing querkle(both phenos), sweet tooth, og kush, northern lights x skunk, indica viper.

Then for "Research" purposes, split it up so you can tell the difference.

Label 1 plant "Flushing" and another plant "Feeding". flush the one, feed the other and harvest them on the same day. you WILL notice a difference, but its not going to be the effects your thinking of.

Organics make weed taste BETTER, not worse.... organic nutes brings out the sweet flavor and aroma of the cannabis plant. personaly, i suggest that when using true organics a person DOESN'T flush, EVER.

check my pics i just put in the vegan sticky, i grow in 5gal buckets or big tubs, no drainage, just a 1 or 2 inch layer of perlite on the bottom, the plants flush themselves, so to speak, by eating everything in there with just plain water used the last watering, or two waterings if i can. I started growing with no drainage after reading a thread on OG from 3LB's and i haven't looked back since, i LOVE not having to deal with water runnoff!
