Does a reliable feminized line even exist?

Herms should not be frequent. My friend grew fem seeds for a year straight and got nothing but hermies. That's because he was trying to put a little Mars light into a big space. I stepped in and haven't seen a hermie since. What's your wattage and space?
Stop choosing flavor of the month strains; Its hype. And as others have said, check your environment. Herms should be a very rare thing.

I also haven't touched a fem seed in 5 years. Only seen a hermie once, 3 years ago and it was the only one I've seen in 11 years of cultivating

1800 w cob and a 1000 w vipraspectra in a 4x4x7, i truly appreciate your feedback, like i said in an earlier comment my humidity has been around 40% due to it being winter in my area and the humidity being extremely low, i have intentions on continuing to try and dial in my humidity, i have a humidifier in the room but not in the tent, i plan to change that, this is the first time ive ever grown where my rh couldnt be kept in line even with the humidifier just in the room which typically got me right where i needed to be, ive since bought a humidity controller to try and get that right, thats genuinely my only issue unless you’re going to tell me to trash these lights, because i have intentions on upgrading anyways for better canopy penetration which i am definitely lacking with these two lights.

On another thread low land Thai was singled out as a Herm strain, I bet you somewhere there is a guy growing it without Herms reading that thread saying 'fuckoff it's not a Herm strain you noobs'.

It's what you make it, Herms and strains are sent to challenge you, make you a better grower, simpletons throw in the towel and do negative writeups and look for easier routes.

You got to have a little dedication to your craft if you want one.
i see where you’re coming from, herms have definitely challenged me and have made me of course want to get it corrected, i have taken multiple steps to figure out where im fucking up, not the plants, me, i consider myself pretty dedicated, willing to learn something new i dont know, always. Im not looking for an easier route, i appreciate the feedback and if youve got anything else youd like to add. Have you grown hsc genetics, from the fem line?

What’s your temps, humidity and all that look like? Do you have light leaks faulty timers or something along those lines. I run hundreds of fem seeds a month and havent ran into hermie issues with them.
temps are 60-65 F lights off. 75F with light on, i recently acquired a humidity controller because it is winter where i am and the air is rather dry im assuming the fact that my humidity has fluctuated could be playing a part, (but ive had herms from hsc in perfect conditions) up until last month it sat right around 55 rh in flower, currently at 40% but i am slowly but surely getting it dialed in now. Veg temps are rather similar, maybe hits 78 F in veg.Veg RH is 60% Consistently because of humidifier. No faulty timers, no light leaks.

If its hitting 60 degrees thats pretty cool for plants. Are you running leds by chance?

Been at it a while. Every time I’ve seen a herm except for a batch of DP white widow it was due to stress. Light leaks, over drying early in seedling stage, too much heat, o er ripe. If you are having chronic hermie probs it’s likely something they are being Being exposed to?

I've only had random bag seed herm randomly. Any bought genetics that are feminized in my experiences have been fine. And the fact that multiple cultivars in multiple different runs are Heming on you would indicate there is something wrong in your environment.

my guess is you have a pinhole light leak in your room. Go in your room at lights out. And sit in there for 10 minutes until your eyes are used to the total dark. And see if there is any equipment throwing light.Or if there are light leaks in the room/tent.

I've never had a fem not be what it was sppsd to be...had a couple throw nanners but I've also been know to train n manipulate tf out of a plant...so I prolly made that happen...I use Southern Oregon seeds

I have been growing out fems for quite some time now, i appreciate the fact that “feminized seeds” produce female flowers, but the huge downside to this is the amount of hermaphrodites i get from the genetics i am using, ive been growing humboldt seed co’s fem line for roughly 2-3 different cycles, i had 2/4 herm first cycle and wrote it off, second cycle, also had a herm pineapple upside down cake, which ended up pollinating the rest of my crop from useful seeds, out of 6 blueberries n choc i had 1 herm but my herm rate with humboldt seed co is much higher i would say probably a 2-1 ratio which is what im currently experiencing. Unless the other two girls in that tent arent girls at all.

Ive already contacted HSC and they have intentions on making it right, the customer service rep remembered me from the time before when i had issues with notorious thc herms and poor germination rates, and was rather helpful once again.

I know im gonna get the throw them out yadda yadda shit im just letting these “girls” finish up & start fresh with a new plan and was wondering if anyone can lend any help.

I have intentions on purchasing regs and just growing them out, but i wanted to give feminized seeds one last chance because maybe it truly is genetics, my environment is controlled, i dont overwater/underwater my plants, My PH is inline at 6.5 almost always and my soil is dialed in, i dont know where im going wrong if this is in fact an issue on my end thats causing this.

Thanks All
Been doing fems for years, mostly DNA Genetics and only the notorious Tahoe OG has ever hermied on me out of dozens so its safe to say reputable breeders are almost guaranteed fem, maybe pay a bit extra because they taken longer time isolating a strong phenotype but worth it in my book.

HSO is not the best breeder out there. They have a history of that problem.

Don't care for the "BIG" names in seed production much. Spend more time with the newer cutting edge guys. You bet you'll pay more but, I find it very worth it.

OR

simply pay up for rooted clones - many hard to find strains around that market...

Less talk more go breed a new gen of Herm free weed please, seed companies tried for thirty years, you got something better?
Stay away from the "Name Brand, old school breeders" and grow quite herm free. There are plenty of the name boys who do just fine also...

i am running led’s, it rarely hits 60, it sits roughly at 65 during the dark cycle

Who are name brand old school breeders?

Saying Herm free has no definition, better growers are Herm free, many have said so in this thread.

Socially how about a better buzz for growers, Herms happen get over it and try again or try another strain. No need to portion blame and hate or even try and define it like this bank or seed is better because SOMEONE says so.

You add nothing to it with those comments, most strains are crossed to sativas at some point, an easy strain is a good indica, hybrids can be either and sativas are just hard all round. Most just buy the latest and they aren't normally the piss easy ones.

I don't think you know much worth writing, we can test the indica sativa Herm theory, someone give a new grower a pure kush and pure low land Thai see which Herms more.

Think it creates a strange place and ideas and if you have got a strain that won't Herm ever again please let's stop keeping secrets because I've never found one and to stop getting Herms took me a while of growing more than most entry level growers I see bitching about it not any particular genetics although indicas were easier and lemon hazes were not.

Keep it simple, not the way your doing it.

You want to run 82-84f with LED's bud, there's no uv spectrum present so you make up the difference by running higher temps
This

You are a good bit too cool under Leds. You may need to use a small space heater to warm the room the tent is in, just insulate it a bit better so it doesnt take much. (I personally dont like heaters in the tent).

I’ve been through the ringer myself with hermed out plants by HSC and other breeders too. One girly boy can easily fuck up my perpetual but I will still pop a femmed seed here or there if I need to.
I found it much easier to just go with reg seeds for the most part and then chances of herms are close to nil. I have had a few strains/plants that the mothers were from fem seed and then crossed with a reg male to find they can still herm out when stressed in late flower. The “herm” gene or whatever it is is definitely passed on to the next generation. My goal was to eliminate the threat of beans in my weed so reg seeds are all I try to fuck with. I have recently popped some fems as a friend has asked me to do a limited run of an old school indica; says all my crazy sativa strains make him too jumpy. Dude needs something to relax....
Anyway it’s not super hard to sex out regular plants; only sets you back a few weeks and then you can monster crop the girls for maximum yield potential. Plus zero chance of herms. Then just clone a select mama or two to keep it going.

Thank you for the tip, like i said i have intentions on upgrading my light, would rather not add any heater or something like that. What would you recommend?
