Does a reservoir for soil need to be chilled?

Ill be going out of town for a few days soon, and looking to come up with a solution to water my plants while I am gone. I got a small pump and put together a little system that seems to be working well, but now its time to move from my 5 gallon feed bucket to something that I can use for a few cycles. Does that water need to be chilled if its sitting for a week, or will just being aerated be enough?

Greetings, as long as it's bubbling it's good. Standing water is bad for everything.

Chiller is not needed for storage.

Good luck.

Thank you. Is there value to it being chilled? I have a chiller as I eventually plan to do hydro.

Doing a hydro type setup, absolutely. Some type of drip(dtw) in Coco/soil, then not so much.

If soil as in the ground or very large smart pots, then no, the soil is cool in the heat and warm in the cold.

A chiller is to keep your reservoir within the proper temps (around 65º-72º). You're only gonna need a chiller if your water gets to hot. Water sitting out has nothing to do with a chiller, that's an airstone.

How long will you be going?
In the past I used a much simpler solution - a bucket with a small hole in the bottom hung above the plants.
I started with a tiny hole and added more holes until the drip was about 0.5 gallons per 24h.
With 3 gallon bucket I was set for a whole week away from home, and the plants were fine when I got back.

If you know a nurse you can even us an IV drip so you can fine tune it.

Im planning on being gone for over a week and have gone with SIPs and I have been testing them leaving them with no water for a week and it hs been going great! Got some trees going as well wow! I would highly advise looking into them for anyone looking for ez soil growing!

Are you using nutes in that setup?
I have some very ammemded soil but the only thing i add to the water is cal mag, maybe some molasses to fuel the micro herd... im not a fan of growing with salts myself but i think peeps do use nutes in the rez's as well. But i dont personally
