Does anyone have any experience with 1/2 hp water chillers?

chillers did not work for me, so what im going to try is take a 7.0 (52 gallons) cubic foot chest freezer seal the inside with RTV and put a thermostat on it and set the compressor to come on @ 68 F. and off @ 58 F. if you want to use a chiller you have to insulate hell out of your res.

Doesn't your chiller give off a bunch of heat????----where do you keep your chiller? what do you do with the heat it gives off?---what is the amp usage of the chiller? 1.5 to 2 amps? since most of the chillers don't come with a pump--what pump do you run? thanks...i use a chiller and my res is not insulated what are you talkin about??

i have a 1/4 hp chiller and it keeps my 70 gal res constant 59 degrees F and its not insulated at all
I have a 1/10 HP chiller and my res is not insulated and it cools it just fine.

yea gives off heat but not enough to drasticly change much-
why does ampage matter ?
i bought a medium sized inline magnetic pond pump from true value and got it runnin all day/night works great

I have an Eco Plus and a Cold Shot both put out a considerable amount of heat IMO. I am using both of them to cool Liquid Lumens lights the Eco runs about 70% during the light cycle and then for a time to get down to the set temp and then it dosen't run much. The cold shot runs 30% durning light cycle and not at all during night. I do not have experience with the ice box setup so I am not sure how much warm water will be being returned to your rez. which is a huge factor in how much your chiller is going to have to run. The more the chiller runs the more heat it will put off. If your room is overly cool for some reason which most arent, then the chiller will probly be a good heater for you. Hope this helps 
A chiller only puts out heat when it labors to cool a res. It all depends on the ambient temp of your ROOM.
A chiller doesnt have to work nearly as hard in a cool grow room, therefore it doesnt throw off nearly as much heat.
I'll guarantee anyone that says their chiller throws a lot of heat has a warm grow room to start with.

the 1/4 HP chiller i got only kept the water down to 72-75, so i pulled a vacum on it and recharged it with a low side of 38 pis with R134a. still same problem not cold enough.
this was with an aeroponic setup with high ouside temps, when the mist hit the air and returned to the res it was 85-88F i got root rot and so i scraped that setup and went to coco, now im going to flood and drain. yeah i guess i could have got a BFC. but aeroponics was just way to much tinkering for me.
