Does Resin Build Up In or Along Your Lungs Like In A Vaporizer/Pipe?

Hey guys,

I just switched to a vaporizer -- a home-made kind of one, and it has a jar on top to capture the vapors. After a week of use there is a honey all over the insides.

I switched from pipes, which used to build up loads of resin from all the smoke inside the pipe sloshing around.

So, is the same effect occurring in my mouth, esophagus, or lungs? I smoke all the time, and now i vape all the time, but this observation can't escape me. I am very worried, anyone knowledgable in this area know???

I've always wondered that too, but something is making me lean towards no. However, I have no real factual idea, so this post is pretty much useless.

Just based on my knowledge of our bodies/systems, I would also say no. It doesn't "build up". Is inhaling any form of smoke on a regular basis good for you lungs? Of course not. But the difference between a bong/pipe/vape and our lungs is that our lungs have a way of healing or cleaning themselves. Overtime, our lungs breakdown the shit that builds up, but in the long run, they can't keep up and are damaged by all the smoke, especially if the smoke is thick or hot.

My advice is obvious but worth taking...smoke what you will (because obviously we're not THAT concerned about our lungs or smoking wouldn't be such a frequent thing) but do what you can to cool and filter the smoke before you inhale it. So use vaporizers or bongs/pipes that water filter or percolate the smoke before it hits your lungs.

I either vape, or put cold ass water or ice in my bong. There's also the waterfall bong. Very smooth. Lights, +rep for the good answer

yea but vaping obviously doesnt help -- i mean seriously after one week my little vaporizer glass jar whip is covered in honey. i just scraped a nice little penny-sized cake of this gooey shit (i just got some on my bed sheet too because it was caked on to the bottom of the jar so when i rested it on there it left a little ring).

I am scared to smoke it, but i think i will save it and just add to it for future cleanups and see how much I can build up. It looks pretty raw, but its worse than a slug, it leaves a trail on every surface i try to store it in, so ive left it on the corner of a beer can :D
