hey does this bud look ready to chop or would you leave it a lil longer? havent seen any amber trichs yet. whats the best way to spot the amber trichs? + rep

You can get a handheld microscope at radio shach for 15 bucks, thats the only way to view the resin glands(trichs).
They are lookin' pretty done to me, how long have they been flowering?
 
I'd say they look done, but until the Trichomes can be seen, it's hard to say. It is obvious the upper leaves are spent, but you may have a few days of swelling left. If the trichs are mostly cloudy, it's aboutt hat time, unless it's an indica and couch lock is preferred, then you want mostly amber trichomes.
 
hey thanks for the replies. i have a 30x loupe but its just hard to keep my hand steady and look for the amber trichs as the plant is at the back of the tent. most of the trichs are cloudy but want some amber as i like a body high. il try and get some trich pics 2nite sometime and tell me what you think. + rep guys
 
heres some pics of the trichs taken a few days ago. will get recent pics tommorow. what percentage would you say is cloudy/clear/amber???

i would let it go alittle bit longer, as you said you like the more body high.. if you wait you will not regret it.. awesome grow!!

I reckon you should start flushing now then chop in a week or 2...nice buds! What strain is it? Is she your first? Just so you know - if the leaves are long and thin (sativa) I'd give it 10-11 weeks minimum coz they take longer, and if the leaves are fatter and not as long (indica) I'd give it 9-10 weeks if you want amber trichs and a narcotic/sleepy high!
 
hi thanks for the replies the strain is himalaya gold from greenhouse seed company. they have been on 12/12 for 70 days now. think il leave her a few more days give her a chance to amber up lol easier said than done tho when the buds look ripe. just want to smoke it lol

Just keep flushing her out for the next couple of days and then give her a dry period of 1-3 days right before harvest and make sure to harvest at the end of the plant's last dark cycle before the lights turn on again to ensure maximum THC content :)
You could also try leaving your plant in the dark for a full 24-48 hours before chopping as I've read a lot of growers have found it to stimulate the plant to produce it's last bit of THC before death
 
+plus trim the dead leaf matter now--it is not doing any good--soo mkight as well get rid of it---does not look good in pictures--hahahahaha--as they say clean those girls up--as much as u can!!!
 
Yeah man Id say pull it within a few days. Looks done to me. I saw mostly cloudy trichs so it's about done anyway. Great lookin cola's!
