Don’t beat me up but I’m gonna flush my organic grow lol

So it’s almost time to harvest ,
I’ve been using dr.earth ferts , fish emulsion and mor bloom throughout the grow ..

I’m gonna be flushing or just water till I get some good runoff, I know there’s a lot of talk on this subject on why it isn’t needed but I’m gonna be trying it out to see myself ..

I’d like to use molasses for the flush , how much would I use ? 1tbs per gallon ?
mans should I do the first half plain water and the last 2 gallons with molasses?

just an experiment for my own learning so don’t get your panties ina bunch ..

I’ve stopped top dressing and the emulsions just been feeding plain water ,
It’s started fading and u can tell it’s gonna be turning yellow(the fan leaves)

here are some pics of the buds , they are definitely cloudy white with trichs on the main buds (not the sugar leaves) are turning amber no more than 5% amber ones possibly also they look cloudy white crystals and not clear when just looking at it wit

here are the pics of the leaves tht I beleive I’m starting to see signs of fading/yellowingA786753E-439A-407E-88B9-195BB22FF625.jpegE9D874DF-945E-48E0-BC58-682B768A8708.jpeg78575A3B-1485-4161-B19D-C1E66D9D5660.jpeg17BE8E33-676F-435A-86E6-76DB1FC5917E.jpeg

Outdoor plant should I top ?
I have a skywalker og vegging outdoors
i Defoliated/lollipopped&LST . . I removed all lower growth and left about 3-4 nodes on each branch that .. I haven’t don’t no topping but I’m thinking of doing it ..

should I top every branch and the main stalk ? Here’s some pics and I’ll mark where I want to top on the main stalk ..so the red Line is where I’ll top and the shoots circled blue will blow up .. does this sound like a good idea I think so

Looks alittle premature to be prepping to harvest. Keep em healthy
Really? Well it’s better than being late and not having good tasting buds ..
but the trichs on the actual buds are starting to turn amber

on ILGM it says it’s an 8 week flowering strain
And I switched to flower on the November 1st
So why would it take so long to reach harvest date? I guess it’s just a recommendation .. or just took a week or 2 to really get into flowering when switching

you can't remove anything from the flower of a plant by feeding it plain water. a plant during flower is dedicating nearly all of its energy to producing those flowers. The only thing that happens when you stopping feeding a plant in flower is the plant taking any available mobile nutrients from other areas of the plant (the leaves mostly) and sending them to, wait for it..... the flowers. the entire notion that 'nutes make the buds taste bad' and that you can somehow flush them out of the flowers with a little water is based on a complete lack of horticultural knowledge.

Those need awhile still, so I wouldn't start flushing yet.

Why would you flush with molasses? What's that supposed to do?
It's a chelating agent.

November 1 you switched to 12/12? Isnt that around 20 weeks ago?

idk.. thts why I’m asking and doing some reading but would like someone else’s opinion or if anyone has had experience with it and asking a question cause thts how I learn
The plant isn't going to suck up the molasses and make the buds sweeter or anything if that was what you were thinking.

It's a chelating agent.
And what's that going to do for the plant by flushing it through ORGANIC soil?

maybe it lowers the ppm in the flower?
Jk

Yeah , and thts what I’m saying maybe could’ve gotten stressed out along the way ? Then again I don’t think breeders harvest dates are tht reliable .. but I’ve just noticed tht trichromes are going from clear to cloudy with a just a few turning amber I noticed the amber ones on the sugar leafs but known I’m seeing them on the main buds but then others say it’s no where near done

To be blunt (pun intended?) is to forget about flushing. Keep feeding her until the end. Oh yeah, forget about breeders times. They’re bullshit.

Yeah the breeders times and what I’m experiencing isn’t adding up lol , so when would u consider the end cause from what I can tell is the trichs are turning cloudy already and a few amber ?

I understand the science behind chelating agents. I don't understand why they would be used to "Flush" organic soil as they will actually make more nutrients available to the plant so if your goal was to remove nutrients molasses isn't going to do that.
I know what you're saying. Ya there will be more available for the plant at first, but it also makes it easier to flush out those nutrients if they're chelated first.

So I’ll do some more reading on the molasses so far what I’ve read is tht it’s pretty much only beneficial for the bennies as a source of food for them .. but still like a specific answer on what about it is beneficial for to be used in a flush

But really ? The plant doesn’t seem like it’s almost ready? I’ve been checking the trichs and to me they look cloudy & noticed them turning amber on the sugar leafs and now the buds are JUST turning amber few here and there .. I’m going for more amber ..

if u just take a look at that plant you may notice "the buds" consists of mostly sugar leaves and that could mean he overfed and even delayed flowering.
now water only may decrease their chlorophyll content making the smoke less harsh and hay'y.

also:
plants can absorb small sugar molecules through the roots, but most will be intercepted by MO's.

getting nute complexes out of the medium usually incorporates an enzyme

If you're going for more amber just let it keep growing until it's at the stage you want. Then harvest it. There is no reason to flush especially if your growing organic in soil.

So I went to go check the trichs I do see more cloudy but I I’m guessing I still got time before they start turning amber which is what I’m looking for ..

So y’all suggest keep feeding/top dressing lightly till I get almost the amount of amber trichs and then just plain water for week or till they yellow out?
