Don't Say Gay

I disagree. Democrats can be evangelized. The wrong race or sex is considered diabolical. This is Calvinism taken to its conclusion.
You're definitely not wrong about that. Regions play just as big a part as party. Still, I think our thoughts mostly work together, rather than be opposing.

How would teachers not teaching kids about sexual orientation and identity increase hate crimes against kids?
By approving of them by the ancient means of not paying attention to the infractions. The usual. Knowing they are infractions has a freeing effect, “maybe I am not crazy and inferior after all”. This moment of self-actualization in “almost people” is the great conservative (racist, sexist, genderist) fear and is perceived as a call to jihad for Jebus.

This is not about the kids. These bills are a not too subtle dog whistle aimed at the GOP's base. Since trumpf asked folks in Georgia not to vote before, and handed control of the Senate to the blue team, the locals on the ground there have been shitting bricks, trying to get their hateful mojo back.

I see the hinge of hate here as not regional so much as church-militant. After seeing from the inside how militant evangelists do it, I have identified their dominionist executive as the great satan, with all the irony that attaches to it.

I'm still not convinced this Bill will lead to more children committing hate crimes and I'm glad it has passed.

How do you guys feel about Iowa for becoming the 11th state to ban trans women from competing against biological girls in sports?

The irony, exactly. I think of the "what would an evangelical christian country be like.." and if they were anywhere near the people they thought they were, well it actually wouldn't be that bad. Turns out, yeah, their application actually does look more like the great satan. The writings of sharing/caring/giving/loving, really not such a bad thing in theory...until they try to do it.

The one word that sums up Christian government is sharia.

See? Men and women are biological.

Your fail is to imagine that men of birth and men of choice should be counted as different.
Being trans is not a choice, its no different than being born gay or straight.

Maybe one day there will be enough trans athletes to have their own category in sports but for now I hope more states follow Iowa and the other states that have implemented the ban.

Why ban nature? You just admitted it’s nature. This sounds Puritan.
Puritanism is sin.

Because there is plenty of evidence to prove that men have an advantage over women when it comes to sports.

I don't think its a coincidence Lia Thomas at Penn was ranked 402 when she was on the men's team and became the fastest female swimmer when she switched to the womens team.

Post some from the peer-reviewed literature, not anecdote.

This is why the bible talks a lot about what's in your heart. If you're full of hate, you want to be exclusive. If you're full of love, you want to be inclusive. There's nothing wrong with recognizing the differences between sex, which is what competitions are based on, not gender. And that's fine. The part where chronnie fails is when it comes to his motives, since he's said before that their exclusion makes him happy. Excluding people should never be viewed as a positive. Finding ways to include people is the positive.
