Dr. Bob Suspended ???

Would you get your certification from a doctor who has had a suspended license?

  • Yes. As long as their license is valid now, I don't care.

  • No. I don't want to take a chance my certification will be thrown out and registration revoked.

I'm sorry that has happened to you, Dr. Bob. I am confident that you will get everything worked out.

Shit like this happens here in California too. We have sadistic District Attorneys who still do not agree with our MMJ laws, so they attack patients, growers, and doctors who issue recommendations. I personally know two doctors who have been suspended temporarily by the Medical Board because the DA complained about their practice. The doctors were not doing anything wrong, but the Medical Board apparently wants to satisfy the complainers.

We're still fighting the prohibitionists, and we've had the law in place for 19 years!

Good luck, Bob!

It's frustrating sometimes thinking. Why isn't this just legal? My goodness humans are kinda ignorant in a lot of ways. It would help if all us stoners would exercise our "right" (in gods eyes anyway IMO) and smoke responsibly. Heck it's just weed. But, the medicinal properties should not be overlooked. I think about stepping away from my marijuana for a while. It really helps my anxiety. I could talk to doc about it and I'm sure he would put me on a happy pill. But, I was strung out on those in my twenties for fun and avoid pills as much as I can. I have a very addictive personality.

Just Free the weed. And be done with it. My gosh we have way bigger issues to worry about than weed. Like all the senseless and atrocious violence going on all over the world.

Best of luck to you Doc. Thanks for fighting the good fight bro.

I am relieved that I didn't see this thread until today. I am helping one of Dr Bob's UP patients fill out her paperwork in a few days.
Now she doesn't have to worry. I was getting ready to call her to have her call the office, but sounds like she is ok.

(Now had this thread been up a few years ago. It'd take me all day to read through all the comments. This would have been dozens of pages by now. lmao.)
Merry Christmas everyone.

Dr. Bob took sides with the COA in Tut/Wik, which was shot down by the Mi Supreme Court. He insisted there is no such thing as an unregistered caregiver, which the Court ruled expressly is a thing, and made other moves against the interests of patients and caregivers alike. He fought tooth and claw to argue that sec. 8 is something that is only available to those who color a little outside the lines, and does not afford any person who is not in compliance with sec. 4 to bring the affirmative defense in any prosecution regarding the medical use of marijuana, which is clearly expressed and allowed in the opening sentence of sec. 8. What we can glean from this is his craven opportunism to keep us all within the confines of sec. 4, which is not a bad thing in itself, but does not prevent police, prosecutors, and the courts from bringing charges against compliant registered individuals, and leaves no other real protection from prosecution. The Affirmative defense in sec. 8 is the biggest, baddest, thing we have to confront the illicit moves by police and the courts to prevent the law from moving forward. B*B would have us to believe, like good little boys and girls, that the only way to protect ourselves is to see him and lay out $250.00 plus to obtain his certification, which is far and away more than what other physicians charge, and they are no less authoritative. He charges more than double for expert courtroom testimony than other doctors for the same reason. He offers to testify free for those who certify with him, but more than double the expert fees charged by other expert witnesses in other cases. There is a means to eliminate physician testimony altogether that he would rather had not seen the light of day (http://michiganmedicalmarijuana.org/blog/584/entry-1163-added-evidentiary-protection-with-or-without-registration/).

He is a profiteer, plain and simple. These are facts, and not hyperbole, insults, speculation, lies, or fallacy. If the riu administration chooses to delete this, they demonstrate their willingness to support him in it, to the detriment of the community of cannabis users, and to permit the government to trample us roughshod.
