if you want to get that net a little less tension add 3 inches onto each corner that way is not as stressed. that shit looks like me, stressed out and just trying to hold shit together. Lol

It grew 1-1.5 inches since yesterday. @HydroKid239 suggested 50% dimming to promote stretch & that seems to be whats happening.

Oh yea, I installed a Trellis! Note to self, get a 4x4 one next time, a 3x3 stretched out puts mad pressure on these weak tent poles.

It’s looking nice and healthy well done.

Why is your net so far from the plant?

I'd be opening the plant up to all that available light you have.

If you have those green soft plant ties, or anything similar you can use it to add reach to the poles.. less stretch on the net.
I did it in my small tent with the cheap netting.
I got it pretty tight. Twisting the corners like a bread tie adds or releases tension. 10DDA383-268B-4D2E-A96E-2B1A6842E088.jpeg26CA7772-DFC8-40CC-953C-33B7E41D0EFB.jpeg

I agree. Lowering the net & pulling the outer branches back, maybe even a little super cropping to get the branches to play ball. I’ve had to do this as well. Lol I’ve been quite busier than my posts reflect.
I’ll keep the pics as thumbnails to conserve space here. But this is how I went about filling the net in my 4x4. Well almost.. with a plant that was never trained before this day.

Ok I've got some big zip ties, i can do that!

I’m pretty sure you can do it. :joint: Tilt the net up if possible, as if you’re working under the hood of the car (lowering in the back) so you can work the back in first just by bending them back & letting the net hold them there. Two people can knock this out, but if you’re like me.. nobody’s touching my babies lol.
Your plant will spread out & become shorter (for now) while putting all those bud sites down the branches in the open to get hit by light by laying them down a bit. This will really be a good help if she stretches a lot. If you have a second layer it can turn out even better than initially thought out plans.

Ok so i moved some more stems into new squares today & turned the FC4800 up to 65%. This plant reacts quick & repositions itself from upside down leaves to right side up for max sunlight like within a half hour. Amazing how it works.

Can't believe I never used to pay attention to plants. Now I'm 100% fascinated.

Thinking i might just flip these this week. Its getting cramped in there.
As in all things, "cramped" is a relative term. ;)

BTW, damn fine looking gal ya got there!! Keep up the good work. And I love your avatar, I grew up in the same neighborhood and went to the same junior and high school that Hunter S. did. Funny thing, they never named anything after him in either school.:o

Duuuuude, relative is right. Hunter definitely made an impact on everyone that read his work, I guess the schools tried to avoid anyone else being "infected" haha. Kentucky breeds some fine counter culture/rebel/hippie genetic stock thats for sure.

Those fans look cool, what kind? The stands, custom built? Or is that a really big tent with extra poles in the middle.

That's the spirit

To make the branches/stens more pliable and easier to work with you can bend them back and fourth with your hands starting gently and gradually adding more pressure.

Wow you really got that plant flattened out. So doing that extreme training significantly increases yeild by maximizing light surface area? What happens when they are that low & then become super heavy with flower, do you then need to support the branches from above with like twine?

Thanks btw, ill keep the gentle/gradual thing in mind as i continue bending branches into new squares today :-)

Yes a flat and wide will increase your yeild significantly and especially so with the available light you have.

I do minimal training during veg most of it gets done 10/21 days after flipping.

If you flatten it all those side shoots become upright and they get an even share of the light.

A tall plant holds the light away from the rest of the plant in a sense.

This is that plant 2/3 weeks later of 12-12 I'd netted it a couple of days earlier.

The diary about is here if you want to see the end of it.

Eta... For support I use a 2nd net if necessary, not all plants stretch the same so I can get away with one net occasionally.

Well, time to start a new journal... it hermed on me & will be popping some new seeds/starting a new thread :) Time to finally use the good genetics!

Looking good. When you get ready to attempt some bending, try doing it about 30 mins after a watering. I have found the branches to be more cooperative & less dry, making chances to accidentally snap a branch less likely.

AC Infinity Cloudray A6 EC clip fans. Great for low energy use, IP44 moisture/dust resistance and inherently fire resistant as well. Much easier to adjust and direct where and how much airflow is used than my old Lasko's. The tent is an 8X4 AC Infinity, evacuated by 8" Terrabloom EC fans, the lights are SF4000's.

So sorry the plant hermed on ya! Best of luck with the new genetics, as that's the key to not only a normal staminate/pistillate ratio but to avoid hermed plants as well.

Thanks, all lessons I'll take into the new grow. Wetting paper towels now ;-)
