When searching for the right tent i always wanted to know some information i could never find. so i thought i would start a post in hopes that people could use the information i have aquired about the secret jardin dr60 to their own benefit. The tent will keep a temp of 75-78 deg F if the outside room/closet is 72-75 deg F with;
> a 250w hps
> a 4 inch 200cfm fan pulling heat from the top and pushing into a
> carbon filter
>a 4 inch 70cfm duct booster blowing air in from oustide of the tent(room temp outside 72-75)
> 2 clip on fans to circulate air ( one for the hot up top and one to blow across tops of plants/bottom of bulb that is in a)
>econowing reflector"batwing style" that does not touch the sides even with the 200 cfm fan pulling the sides in a little bit.

and oh ya!!! 4 maxi pots fit perfect inside of the tent

in about 30 days i plan to post again, i will be adding a 400 watt hps inside of an air cooled daystar reflector and plan to have the specs for this as well.

A 200 CFM fan for that is overkill & a waste of money imo. A pc fan would do justice if need be. I have a 190CFM fan going into my DR120W as of now and its on a fan speed controller on low and it sucks the life out of it. I usually have a 4in drop in fan or a PC fan to go in place of it.

A passive intake will always be better than a forced intake. Plus, in the long run its a waste of money.

Given the space provided, (1) single 4-6in circulating fan will do fine.

This is based on my experiences of my old DR60.

well it sounds to me like we are having different experiences. if i had anything less than a 200 cfm (sunleaves windtunnel with a phat muffler +super uber quiet!!!!) pulling the air out of the top it would get very very very very hot. i have a 400 6 inch which i dialed down on low ( and you fail to mention th sound that is involved with "dialing fans down" but thats a different topic) and the air didn't stabalize therefore the tent would not stay under 80 deg F and would constanly fluctuate. i added the 4" intake 70cfm booster cuz it blows cool air around the root zone, which in my tent is usually the same as the ousted room. tent temps are taken directly under the lamp so that i know the exact temp at my flower sights. everything i do is overkill never half ass, but thank you for your opinion it may be helpful to others

Lol.

Good luck my friend.

Maybe try going simple and not over-thinking things.

Maybe this is why youre getting no where, lol.

You asked for help, I replied. Take it as you please.

no my friend i am happy with my setup but it seems that you have something that is sufficient for you also. and now with information from two sources someone can look at this thread and have a better knowledge of the dr60. i have presented information that if read and interpreted properly can be used to understand the capabilities of the dr60. when searching for this tent i had the question, ' will the tent get to hot with just a passive intake" and in my experience yes. i tried two different ways with the tent each over a 48 hour period and in each test my average temps were fluctuating, this means that air was actually building up inside the tent and was not circulating enough to keep temps under 80 deg F. one of the ways was to dial down my 6inch inline, and well that was overkill! the other was the 200 cfm wind tunnel, i actually sealed the ten and pulled all the strings so that the only intake is actually the 70 cfm booster fan and with the set up described in the initial post of the thread. the temps never rise above 78 but the hottest my house has been is 75 so there ya go! 75 inside/outside the tent equals 78 in the tent with lights on. i tested this on several occasions so that i could achieve a stabilized temp inside of my temp and know that if wont move out of the range i have chosen even have a temp sensor on my inline so if it gets to 73 in the tent the exhaust actually shuts off. and excuse me Sir, but there was never a plea for help or an inclination that im not getting anywhere but if we're going to make assumptions i assume you are a darsh tar.. so please don't post again and thank you for your input

i swear ill do it!!!!i would put as much equipment into my tent as possible and be as complicated as possible why>? why not? kinda like the guy in call of duty who when everyone screams last kill last kill shoots someone instead of doing a 360 ballistic knife to some noobadacle's face. kinda like homegrown to holy shit that looks like the stuff that killed elvis..... hmphh you will eat that cat poop

I have the same tent with 265 watts of flourescent and LED. I use a 165 cfm 4 inch fan with a filter rated a little more than that. I turn the fan down to lowest with speed controller and temps and humidity are fine. The sound of the fan is maybe 1/4 of what it is on full. No hum or whatever as you were inferring above? No need for active intake and no fans in the tent.

Your light produces more heat than my setup but I still do not see the need for all that air moving you are doing. My tent is in a air conditioned room and yours may not be?

I have a wind tunnel 4" and whenever I put the speedster controller on it, it hums much louder than if I just have it on running full blast. I also have a phat duct muffler on it which makes it super quiet!my 400 watt light is almost at the top of the tent now and with it being closer to the top, my temps inside my temp are actually the same as outside my temp. This is awesome news for me because I had heat issues last summer with the same light in a larger space, though it was not in a tent and did not have a forced intake. The air movement I have now is great! I have a 4" booster fan hooked up to where it blows the fresh air from the bottom through the middle of my tent, my plants seem to like it. I am currently growing g13xhp from sensi seeds. I have grown this strain 2 times already, but in Previous grows I fimd them before the first set of seven leaves showed to get a perfect 6 main colas, however this time I have not trimmed at all, or transplanted, or moved at all for that matter. Day one I drop 13 seeds in in a glass of water. It is day 36total dat 14 flower ( yes I know no veg time) and plants are closing in on 3 feet with no more than 3" internodes. First or second weeks of December they come down, so by Xmas I'll have a yield report for the strain and tent estimates. For Christmas as I have ask for a dr90 so I can do a 250 in the dr60 and a 400 in the dr90. One word, more weed!

@yesum>> check out my other thread.. Dr60 test 1 it has a full description of my tent and can maybe give u some understanding of the some of the methods behind the madness.
