Droopy, curling leaves

This is my first grow so i'm probably making lots of mistakes.

Hydroponic setup

Just swithed to 12/12 light cycle under 250W HPS lamp

Try to keep pH between 6 - 6.5.

nutrient level currently around 800ppm using FloraNova Bloom

Leaves seem to be droopy and curling.

Any suggestions?

Basically the exact same set up I have, and using the same brand nutes as my first indoor grow. At least with hydro it should not be a watering issue (2x45min floods a light schedule) Are they clones or seed? And how old? they look quite young-could be unfurling. Sometimes, when clones make the transition into vegging, the original leaves look a bit sad and odd. This is normal. In any event, GH nutes are a bit strong, so try dropping the PPM by 20% and do not worry, they will most likely come good- if you are uncertain of the nutes try flushing with luke-warm water, and then go onto a one shot hydro feed like Formulex -VERY easy to use, I use it for cloning and early growth before I tent them. I use GH Floragro, Floramicro and Florabloom in combination from then on as recommended by GH (go to their site, and download the pdf chart they offer, it's good). I do mix them about 10-20% weaker because the FAQ part of this and other sites say more plants are damaged by over-feeding than under feeding. My grow went fine and is smoking lovely, after a couple of Fatherly panics. I am currently using tomato feed instead of Formulex (MUCH cheaper) for vegging and will use my (expensive) GH stuff when 2 weeks into flower. Do not worry-it will be fine.
happy new year

These were grown from seeds. About 3 weeks of vegitative growth, then I switched to 12/12. They're about 8" tall.

I'll do what you suggest and lower the nutrients.

thanks

i have a plant like that, and i think it in shock or just getting used to the hps, just dont over water it, and it should be ok,

Good luck mate, really hope it helps. I was looking at mine which are a bit further along (9" avg in SOG) and the older leaves (singles and triples) are all looking a bit knackered- the top , new growth is strong and vibrant, and I am trimming the stem growth off any way. How are the growing tip/s looking?

So far, growth hasn't been as rapid as it was during veg. Maybe the plants are still adjusting to the flowering stage. It's only been less than 48 hours since I switched.

Hydroponic setup. Think its called a water culture system. The roots just float in the reservoir. The reservoir has an airstone bubbling inside. Also got a ultrasonic fogger running.

I'm really starting to believe I just rushed things a bit too much with the nutrients.

I changed the light from metal MH to HPS, switched to a 12/12 light cycle.

I flushed the reservoir but should have been more patient with the nutrients. They were at about 800ppm with FloraNova Grow during veg. After flushing, I went straight to 800 ppm FloraNova Bloom. I think the change was too abrupt and the plants reacted.

I am not too sure about PPM but I think people go there slowly. I kind of work my way up to full strength-check this, but I think what is carefully studied is the difference between one day's PPM and the next. This gives you an idea about the uptake, and how much to replace.

I think my plants have recovered nicely after easing up on the nutrients. Still a bit curly, but maybe thats how they're suppose to look.

Logging the change in ppm from day to day helps.

7 days of flowering now but I can't see any signs of flowers of either sex, but it's my first grow, so they could be there and I don't recogonize them. I'll probably need to wait till they're more mature before I can tell.

14 days would not be too long to wait, but 8-10 should show hairy pods at nodes.
The very best of luck with it.
