experience chiming in.....

flouro tubes are better than cfls. better spread, distribution and penetration, not to mention higher lumen count.

tubes over cfl's. cfl's are for places where you can't fit a flouro tube.

The tubes do have a higher lumen count per bulb, but 2 cfls produce about the same as 1 tube, and CFLs are more compact and you can wire up so many more without all of the bulk of a hood every two light bulbs. With an ideal system of CFLS you don't need penetration because direct light will be on every (almost every) leaf. I prefer the CFL without a doubt.

BUT SERIOUSLY, i don't want all of those nasty boys getting their pollens all over my beautiful girls... but my camera was borrowed by someone and i have no photos to help you... shit

I'm very sad to tell you that i have only one female in the group of six that i first flowered... bogus. But a silver lining is that it was the best plant of the group that went female so that's good...

sorry to hear u only got one. but hey man gotta look on the bright side. how about u clone her and get 6 of her goin. might delay u 2-3 weeks. but thats 6 plants instead of just one plant. and u wil still have a mother that all u need is a couple cfls to keep kickin,

Well, i'm already 4 weeks into flowering her. She's getting pretty good bud sites with alot of hairs and she grows like an inch or more a day now. I was trying to get some pics up just now but my camera's battery is MIA. Hopefully I'll get some pics up within a few days.

I really don't know with my big girl. She has been flowering for exactly a month. But when i started this I knew so much less than i know now, and i did not write that sort of thing down. But i am really starting to think that i really vegged too long because i just didn't have enough light in my veg box, they just didn't grow that fast. I wish i would have read on RIU for a few months before starting.

Yes I've seen it and badass is the word. I really wish i could do that on my next grow but i'm going to grow in a walk in cedar closet and i don't really think i would be able to access the plants in the back corners well enough with the screen in the way.

well theres my answer i was lookin for on my thread. what would be the exact size of the screen. mine is 4 feet deep and i could reach all the tips in the back. and make it so its a little taller and so u can crawl in between the pots so u can get under the screen and work.

Hey man, I just thought i'd chime in and tell you that it would be a good idea to either paint the inside of that flower box white...or preferably get some panda film or mylar. What I have is 2x4 feet thin pieces of wood that I stapled mylar too and taped the edges around the back, it keeps it all evenly smoothe and doesn't get air pockets.

I dig your grow though, you're doing a good job considering. I'd also say if anything definitely take one clone off that good plant...see how it does...if it fails oh well, if it succeeds then you can use it as the mother for future crops.

You should get a little humidity dome and some rockwool cubes for cloning too...it's really cheap.

I feel kind of stupid. I've never really measured it and it is a 6x11foot space but it is only a little over 6 feet tall. I think i may try to do a 6x6 foot screen using the other 5x6 space for all of the other doodads I hope to get soon enough. This grow is a little way off.. like a month or two but when i do start it will be a 'real' grow with proper equipment and planning. You can do a Scrog grow from seed, correct?

thats what i did. feminized seeds are your only option. i got 14 out of 15 germination. 2 i killed cause i didnt have room for them in my hydroponics and didnt feel like keepin them around, and they were kinda runtish. so i got my 12, and they are 12 girls. pretty stable phenotypes. Dutch Passion knows what they are doing. thats what i would do man. split your room up. you can have a veg room and flowerng room.u. a 6x6 foot screen would be a fun canidate. same sq ft as mine just sqaure. do it to it!

What sort of seeds would you recommend? Not too expensive but i wouldn't mind spending a hundred bucks or something. Would a 600 w HPS do the trick or should i go for the 1000 w?

1000 or 2 600s like i have. i went with Dutch Passion Blueberry and Strawberry Cough. I reccommend a 50indica/50sativa.

Also I don't know recall if anyones pointed this out yet but you're going to have some major smell issues in a setup like yours. You may want to start looking into how you plan on attacking that problem.

I'm not really sure why you think that my setup is making any more smells than anyone else's (maybe I've been eating too much meat)... but yes, it smells wonderful in here. So what?
