Unnecessary?
So beneficial bacteria provide no benefits to DWC system other than to cure disease? Could you give me a few quick reasons to why use DWC? Im still gonna try it..
Is it possible to do an organic DWC?
Is it true that plants grow faster in a DWC?
first pic to second pic in 18 days, dwc is super fast grow. Super easy : )

I've read about the first 60-70 pages of this thread, and I'm blown away by help that's being offered to everyone! I have a pretty good idea how to get the tea going, but obviously I have a ton of questions. Here's a quick rundown of what I have going on.

First off. I am new to hydro. Brand new in fact. I have an 18 site 13 gallon current culture with an epicenter (19 buckets total). I have a 1100 gph pump to recirculate the water. Have good air in the buckets. 1/2 hp water chiller to control water temps. No light leaks that I can tell. For this run is used "Mills". My last run I used "veg-bloom", and the run before that was "Rock nutes". This has happened to me every time.

I guess my first question would be about my set-up. From what I'm describing, is there something else I could be doing with my system to ensure i don't get these roots?

Second would be, would I have good looking roots to begin with if my water source was tainted (I am on a well that we did sterlize after the second run of shit roots)?

My third question... Will brewing up a batch save me from this plauge?!

Cut off the nasty shit if it looks fucked.

Spray the rest of the roots clean with a clean regular res nutes solution that is 6 ph
I use a one liter pump sprayer bottle.

Then clean everyrhing, your hoses inside your pump, fuckin everything. With non scented antibacterial soap. And then bleach.

Start a new res and add southern ag garden friendly fungicide @ 2 ml per gal everytime you change your res.

Try to blockout light, dditch air pumps, make a waterfall. And clean the shit out of everything you can more often .

Keep your res temps in check as well.

Do a Res change every week

I battled this slime and won, take a look at my grow journal in my signature below.

@projectinfo

I am in Canada as well and its a PIA to get microbe products. You will need to hit eBay unfortunately. from my own experience I would stay away from southern AG (take a look through my grow, first post has link to my southern AG problem).

What I used is Earth Worm Castings brew and then Great White by Plant Success directly in the rez and watered through hydroton to inoculate.. Was able to get it from ebay, fresh from the vendor in about 3 days.

I also bought southn ag and great white off ebay from the states.

Currently diluting 1/20 then 2mlper gal
And 1/2 tsp per 15 gal of great white.

Going good so far everything turned around fron droppy to super lush

Maybe it wasnt the southern ag that ruined your res. Whats your temps, is it light proof, maybe you used to much?

Hello guys i write for first time but i watch the community for years now.. I run a dwc system and the last two times i had issues with the slime on the roots. I have run a dwc system for up of 6 times without issues but only the two last times i had issues.

Anyway in my last grow when i identified the issue i read this brilliant thread i followed heizenberg guides and i made my own tea using biobizz humus, great white, bh from general hydro and molasses. Αctually the tea was working very very well and after one week hundreds of new strong and white roots grew from the rockwool.

In my current grow i started to produce and to apply the tea in the water from the first day as a precautionary measure but the slime is back again and the tea is doesn't work very well. I am thinking if the bio bizz worm humus has expire date if you know let me know. I can feel the moisture in the soil is not total dry,

I have keep the same process for the production i haven't change anything. I have two mango saphire and one malawi in the tent. The malawi seems to recover well but the rest are still suffering with curved leaves and with brown and weak sick roots?

The tea is working for everyone what is going wrong at this time?In my last grow the water temperature was 26 and the roots was really healthy cause of tea. Now the water temps are around 22-23 degrees

Any ideas??

I ran hydro for a couple years and never cleaned anything once. I had brown slime in the beginning. Use a teaspoon of "mycogrow soluble powder" and a pinch of sucanat and aerate for 48 hours.. Change your res once a week and add a gallon of this brew. I never had to clean and always had the healthiest roots. Yes it reversed the slime in the beginning even.. Once the slime hits you it does a severe amount of damage and that round of flower will take a couple of weeks to recover.

If using mycogrow soluble and ancient forest humus soil you said to exclude everything else. Do you still need the organic unsulphered blackstrap mollases?

Easiest, quickest, and cheapest method to brew a tea in only 15 minutes. Don't believe it read for your self. https://www.dudegrows.com/captain-uses-recharge/

Update from previous link.

Straight from real growers site.

It also prevents and I believe fixes slime, the brown slime mentioned by Heisenberg on page 1 in his first post about cyanobacteria.

Hope this helps everyone. Happy growing :)

Is it pointless to use tea if my res temps are between 60 and 72? Or should I just keep it stocked in case something bad happens like slime or pythium? Right now I have healthy white roots with just hydroguard

Hi all, sourcing a lot of this stuff in Australia is a major hassle, I went the sterile res route (chlorine) and it's worked for me, I'm back in action, new white roots everywhere, my only question is can I use floralicious plus in a sterile res as I believe it has kelp in it?

Chlorine reacts with certain types of nitrogen to form ammonia in the res which is not good for plants. Verify what type of nitrogen it has.
