Well I didn't get the rez changed but I will get to that this weekend sometime. I did get the screen built and put in. 4 screw and about 2 minutes I can have it out if I need to get in there to do some things until they get bigger. I have it sitting at 6 inches above them now but may lower to about 4-6 above them after I do a rez change cuz I want them to start growing into the screen and filling it out. It's a good sized screen so as long as I can fill 3/4 of it before I switch to flower then I should have a good yield if all goes well. I didn't post a step by step cuz honestly nobody says anything about them so I'll just post pics.

If I can fill this screen then I will be happy

My walls are kinda nasty. This happened and I had black/brown slime on roots then I added bleach and havent had issues since. Gonna clean next rez change. And my roots aren't doing shit really. Plants are growing but not the roots. They should be Long

Looking good blu!. Don't know what to tell you about the roots but mine didn't start really growing until past the 20+ day mark.
I could see from the pics the two tops growing good from where you topped them. Good job

Thanks anyways Mel. My roots are due to my water level. I either always have it too high or too low and I try to have it perfect. Oh well at least the plants look good I guess. I cleaned out the rez last night and raised to 720 PPM from 440 PPM. Just to kinda see what they would do. I really expected them to be burnt this morning when I checked them but they show no sign of burning as of yet. No worries. I took the screen out so I could clean the rez real good before I put the screen in there for good. Gonna get that set back in there today and have it about 5 inches above them. I wanted to let them get bigger before the screen but I think they should fill out fine once they hit the screen and start branching sideways. It's a big screen so need to get an early jump on it. Lol. Not much else to update. Went to bed after changing the rez and they were all droopy and laying down then this morning they were perky and wide awake.

Was looking at my roots and they just do not seem to be doing anything. They were looking good last week and this week they seem to not be growing much if any. The plants are growing slowly. I feel that they should have exploded and be bigger than they are at 25 days old. I was wanting to flip to flower in about 2 weeks but that will be pushing it unless I can get a growth spurt between now and then.

Too close to the water? Not enough bubbles? I don't know but my roots sure are not exploding like I see some on here at half this age. What am I doing wrong? The one in the back is El Mon 2 and the one up close is El Mon 1.

If it was me Ill raise the water level up to just about the Bottom of the net ,because it seems like the ...let them reach for the water it's not working.
I don't know if it is just me or that I'm alwas medicated , but I don't see enough bubbles in the rez blu. What is the rez temp?

My rez temp stays at 67 or close to it. I have two thermometers. They both read different temps but they both stay below 70 so thats fine with me. I have 4 airstones 2 6 inch round ones and a 14 and 10 inch airstone, but those two aren't putting out as many bubbles as the two round ones do. May have to look online on eBay and see if I can find some heavier better airstones. I have alot of bubbles but I just don't know if its enough. I know you can't have too many bubbles and don't mind getting more stones if that will make my damn roots explode. Lol. The plants look good but I know they could be better.

Those are good temps, wish mine were like that. The plants do look so healthy! And I guess the roots don't need to be huge to have a healthy plant

No chiller or heater. Ever since I have switched from the Rubbermaid to the Igloo cooler. I have had absolutely no problems with my rez temps. Where as with the RM my temps got up to like 75 and that was in the colder months. I filled my rez up the other day when I changed it and my digital therm said temp was 73 and I didn't sweat over it. And a couple hours later it was back down to 67. I have had no problems with it getting high. If anything they have dropped to like 64 but then I just add a pitcher full of hot water that is pH'd and it levels the temps back out. That igloo is my best friend with rez temps. I'm looking around at some better airstones and preferably heavier ones that I don't have to tie them down. I found in another forum they recommend Active Aqua airstones cuz they are heavy so I may give them a shot. Hopefully I learn enough from this grow that my next DWC is 10 times as good.

Humidity has been around 45-50% today and is uaually around 35-40%. Good Deal! Even tho the roots don't look as good as I want them too the plants still look great. El Mon 1 has a sweet fruity smell when I get close to it. After reading around I am wishing that I had not topped them at all. I would probably be farther along with the grow but oh well. You learn as you go. Extrema has gotten bigger even from this morning when I checked. So hopefully it will all start picking up and have a growth spurt. Was gonna put the screen on them but am gonna wait a little closer to flowering time to introduce the screen. Prob another week and half to two weeks.

Day 26:
Just wanted to take a couple pics. They seem to be growing pretty good even if the roots aren't. Extrema is 4 1/2 inches tall and the two El Mons are about 3 1/2. PPM has been around 700 since the rez change and they have been taking it well so I raised to 800 PPM and will leave it there til next rez change.

the plants are looking really good blu!

I was thinking about your bubbles, what if you get a bigger air pump? or raise the stones up the ress some how? because your roots looks just like they did a few days ago.

Yea I know. Thats my issue. They actually looked better last week than they do now. I was looking on eBay earlier and that was my conclusion too. My pump pushes like 8 Litres Per Min and the Active Aqua pumps I was looking at pushes like 80 LPM minimum. I can get them for about $40-50 bucks a piece with some good active aqua airstones for like $20 each. I could get one of the pumps and have my small ones as back ups. It will be a bit pricey but I think the added bubbles will help out tremendously. I have alot of bubbles but not nearly as many as I could/should have in there.

I have been looking and thinking and if my bubbles and roots look shitty and noodly like they have been. Then once they get into flower then I really won't have any bubbles at the top of the water. My pumps now are rated at like 8 LPM and are not doing the job they need to be doing. So I did what I should have done initially and ordered a 70 LPM commercial air pump with an Active Aqua 8.5 in round micropore airstone that weighs 2.8 lbs so that should be heavy enough I don't have to anchor it down. I ordered them off of eBay. The pump was $65 and the stone was $32. Those prices include shipping. They are high but will be worth it if they make my roots and plants grow faster and healthier. I was gonna order two of those round stones, but for $32 a piece I will put the one 8.5 disk, 2- 6 in disk , 1 14 & 1 10 inch stone in there. That should rock the rez with bubbles. Fingers crossed. I have been top feeding them once a day and they seem to have a little new growth on them but nothing like I am wanting. On the bright side, the plants are still alive and looking good and healthy & they are getting bigger. I have seen around where people get an inch of growth a day. I get about an inch a week lol.

PS: If you hit the Reply button at the bottom then it automatically deposits $100 into your bank account. Seriously, no joke $100 instantly!! Ok so maybe it doesn't give you $100 or even $1 but it was worth a shot to get some replies.
Sorry Mel, I know you was checking your bank account to see if some money was in there. Jk

Where is the money? You owe me like $1000 then lol!.
Seems like you'll have plenty of bubbles and O2 in there now.those are some pricie stones they better work! If the roots don't start growing after that, just quit and grow tomatoes then :)

Looks like you are the only person who wants some money. The money should be there soon. Lol. Yea it better give me some better bubbles and healthier roots for the price of them.
I have noticed a little more root growth the past day or so. I have been top feeding once a day. My theory is the lack of bubbles is causing weak roots which can't properly feed the plant so when I top feed them they are getting the water they are lacking but still not getting the bubbles and O2 they need. So I do expect to see quick results from adding the bigger pump and stone. If that don't work then I'm finding a new hobby. Na, I'll get the hang of it. Too much invested!!

Here are a couple pics from today. I will post another set of pics the day that I put the new gear in there and another set 24 hours later to see if there is a change in growth by adding the new pump and stone. Extrema and El Mon 2 have showed the most growth over the past couple days. El Mon 1 has the better smell of the 3 though so they even out.

Update Day 30:
My pump came in today. Very quick delivery!! My new air stone should be here soon so that should make a bigger difference. I can definitely tell a difference in the amount of air flow and bubbles that this pump produces. It is a little loud tho. Any suggestions on making this quieter? I have it sitting on a pillow on the cab floor. I will keep an eye on the water temp to see if I see a rise in temp from the pump. As of now it has remained 66.7. So we shall see.
