sorry but no pix. as someone mentioned the totes are black with yellow lid.

i used 2" PVC and shower drains for return lines to control tote. i used 5/8 heater hose from pump in control tote to the totes in the bloom room.

what is your drainage situation? are you prepared to join the "flood club"? knock on wood, never had it happen to me. i have a floor drain close by though.

jcommerce: the hardware store not too far away had the drains in stock. it's basically a bulkhead fitting. comes with rubber gasket etc. and it's for 2" PVC slip fitting on the one end. it does come with a built in "grate" which has been good for catching errant hydroton, dead leaves etc.

I don't quite understand the shower drain thing. Why not just use bulkheads?
oops. see reply above.

i wonder what a 2" slip bulkhead costs vs. a shower drain. i think the drains were maybe 8 - 9 bucks? i built it a long time ago.

nope. looks like you'd need 1" I.D. hose. black not clear.

google: undercurrent system. it's expensive but if your handymen are any good, they can copy it for a 1/4 of the price.

I did. I took him to home depot and lowes and neither had the parts we needed. I think it was the rubber gasket they were missing, so I wanted to make sure I was ordering the correct item online that's all. Any other glaring issues you see?

The only glaring issue I see is you're taking everyone's advice here on how to do DWC. lol.

Other than that, you seem like you're all set to spend some money!

10-4, bulkheads are not cheap, but $8 - $10 for that size is comparable to most (I get mine from Bulk Reef Supply...they have everything plumbing-wise that you could need). Look about 2/3 down this page and you'll see my setup. The washing machine drain hoses, which are available at all Lowe's, have been invaluable for drains with bulkheads. Have been a staple of mine for many years. https://www.rollitup.org/t/rdwc-1000-watt-gorilla-tent-t5-mother-area-t5-pre-veg-tent-cloning-station.789036/

nothing wrong, just a suggestion to get u growing instead of building..youll learn as u go..i started w/ an emilies garden, then moved to flood n drain, under current, airo, nft, etc. once u learn how to have the proper enviroment and lighting, then the nutrients and keeping water airated, building ur own systems is easy.. but for beginers i recomend buying a system to learn how it all works even tho building ur own is way cheaper..
