DWC started same problems as always?

Basically I have a DWC 5 gallon bucket system over some 85 watt cfl warm and cold, theres 90 ufo above for when foliage is larger. More or less I noticed some yellowing, then browning on the ends of two leafs. My res temps where at a high temp of 65-70, my temps around the plant are 71-76, with a 24/0 light cycle. No nutes yet. R/O water. Didn't change the water the first week and it became slighty cloudy and at one point res temps where up at 75 with HIGH ph like 6.5-7. Took me about a day or so to adjust back to 5.8, not to shock them with change. will monitor ph closely for next couple days along with clearity of water and res temps. Some leaves started turning yellow on monday (about day 6 from seed), then about day 7-8 leaves started turning brown, i removed most dead dried growth as i apoligized to my plant lol. everything is holding but this browning has happened before, was curious as the actual cause, root rot? ph lock out? seems like the biggest two possibilities, I clean everything with h2O2, and when i change the water out of my reservoir i do a quick bleach scrub and rinse.

k first off they need nutes asap reason #1 there yellowing #2 nutes have PH buffers in them to help hold the ph in place

add nutes at 1/2 strength and adjust from there as they get bigger.

Your temps are fine. Only reason you need lower temps is to keep more oxygen in the water, and also to keep algae/fungus growth slowed to a crawl.

I wouldn't shoot for higher for sure, IMO I would say you could go lower but I think you're ok where you are now. In fact I would say to add nutes at low strength and either H2O2 or look into some zone by dutchmaster. I find this to help with PH swing more than anything, add the nutes and your golden. Just my opinion, good luck and happy growing.

I don't put my plants in my buckets until they are established. Try starting it out in a tray next time and drop it in when you have good established roots. Then use 0-5-10 Lucas Formula from day 1 in the buckets under those lights. I go straight to full strength Lucas under an HID.

this looks way to young/small to me to show such signs of sickness due to lack of food
plants can normally get much bigger than this with no food before showing any signs of sickness in my nft tanks ..
your plant has a very dry dehydrated look to its leaves, im not sure that is just the lack of food ..

how close is the 85w cfl you are using ?

i have forgotten to feed some plants/tanks over the years when using multi tank setups they would tend to go lime green first, but would be much larger with no signs of burning that plant looks like it could be suffering from environmental / burning problems .. although i do agree it should be having some food now, i would have it on a .8 to 1 EC at that size

ahhh! woke up today ph around 7 :( wtf, my enviroment is pretty controlled. i dont use h202 cause i cant find a food grade supplier, and 3% normally has stabalizers. how fast should i try and drop my ph. I agree that plants this young should not be having lack of nutes issues and all my temps are digital aswell so those are correct. I have considered it being from a low humidity but today the plant was healthier, and the ph spiking is a big sign to me somethings a miss.

Don't be surprised by PH moving around a bit. Ph doesn't stay static in water even when there are no plant roots in it. Its characteristics are mutable and fluid... because well, it's fluid. And if you have a bubbler going, it could cause slight fluctuation too. I wouldn't worry too much about a 7 ph as that is not instant death. Lower it with ph acid base down... gradually (water seems to be more senstitive to the ph down than up from my experience). Get it down to the desired range of 5.5 to 6 and monitor. Regular minor adjustments in PH are a normal part of hydro growing. Also, when there is actual root matter in your fluid, the PH should stabilize somewhat.

ah good too here, im going to keep it low at about 5.5 if i can, going to drop it to about 6 hopefully before work tonight i will have a jug handy of ph 4.5 to adjust in small amounts, but adjusting ph to quickly is bad for plants if i remember? ah i love this site been so long since i got on the forums

Is it in rockwool or something else beside the hydro-ton rocks? and from the picture it looks like the roots havent made it out of the bottom of the pot yet.
So how far is the pot from the rez and how are you watering it.. Looks to me like its getting over watered, or too much moisture not enough air for the roots. I don't think its a nutes problem this early on, need to go back to basics and check your setup

I'll go with that.
