The minimum U should flower is 14 weeks with the majority of sativa strains, I say make that ur goal. and by that time they will be ready.
oh and dont trim the lower buds, at this point it will only hurt your overall yield. hold off on the temptation till they get to the 14 week mark in flower and take them off as sample buds instead.
oh and the dark period before harvest is to help with the THC production, Ive done it and didnt really see much results, and after that a bunch of ppl started saying it was useless. theres a thread on that here :https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/13702-dark-period-before-harvest.html
the best way to help with trich/THC production is to get a UVB light

and I actually dont recommend using molasses during the last few weeks of flowering. but it does help with the overall size and resin production, I learned that first hand. it also messes up the taste of the bud, so if u want all ur bud the same flavor then go for it
I recommend straight water feeding the last weeks of flowering. thats different from flushing. flushing is running large amounts of water over the soil, I prefer to feed straight water + 5% bloom enhancer on a weekly schedule, just to help fatten the buds up and bring out the natural fragrances during the last few weeks. thats certain to get rid of all the salts in the soil.

i know that i thot my grape krush was garbage when i cut em... then after they finished drying they smelled a lil better...then after about a month in the jars they tasted and smoked phenomenally. wid dem jars open em twice a day and dump out the buds for bout a couple minutes then pack em back up...
ok, from what Ive gatheredI type as i speak. to me, when i read what someone has written to me i "hear" them saying it. A lot of people would like to say that i sound immature or disregard my opinion immediately because of the way i carry myself. I'm not worried about other people, i worry about what im doing.
maybe its just in tree...but all i know is i used sugar on my grape krush grow and that shit tasted like heaven. im pretty sure there is a lot of validity to not giving them anything but water for a hot one before you cut em down to give them time to break down all the residual foreign compounds within its tissues...watever they may be
