he's right, thats a pure sativa, looks strange. reminds me of the mexican in the old days .

also, hps isnt the right light for veging, try to add a blue cfl or 2 to the mix when veging.

they look great for a sativa, just a little weird , havnt seen a thin plant like that in a long time.
