Earl goes Hempy looking for Mom

I have some seeds I made
by crossing a Stinky WW mother
with a fast growing Purple Cindy male.
Daddy

Mommy

I call them StinkyWidow.

The WW mother was a chocolate smelling pheno
with slow growth and small stature,
but the buds are dank, and I like them.

The plant was grown strictly for seed,
so there was not much bud,
and it was harvested too early,
so many seeds are immature
and the grem rate is only about 50%
of the mature looking seeds.

I started 8 in untreated coco plugs,
just to test the germ rate.

A couple are doing OK,
so I have moved them into hempy buckets.

Hoping there is a female,
and with some luck, maybe a nice pheno.

1gl bucket

Time will tell.

This is a low budget test.

I am using the hempy formula
of three perlite, to one vermiculite.

Mixed it together along with 2 gls of RO
to keep the dust to minimum.

I am feeding 500ppm
Dutch Master Gold Grow, A&B.
no additives at this time,
no pH adjustment.

They are outside for now,
until they get large enough
to attract attention.

very nice to see you trying hempy Earl I have always admired your work... a bit of advice (feel crazy trying to give you some) but some hempy growers myself included have experienced problems with the mg perlite...

\l. What size hole are you using in your hempy buckets?
3/8" hole, 1 inch from the bottom, in the one gl bucket.

Placing the hole, and the size,
was just a guess.

I can always make the hole bigger,
or plug it with a rubber stopper and move it up.

If you have too much water in the bottom,
it will get stinky and cause RR.

The plant needs to consume all the moisture,
before more is added back.

Dutch Master Gold Hydro nutes.

They are not gold, they suck,
but I have them,
and I am going to use them up.

Hey Earl, just noticed your Hempy thread. Looks promising so far! I would like to try out the Hempy system as well. Is it possible to make one as small as a 32 ounce container? how big of a hole? I would like to put rooted clones into them at some point soon and want to utilize light space. Otherwise i would go straight to the one gallon as you are using. Oh, one other thing, you mentioned your distaste in the dutch master gold. What nutes do you prefer? I'm trying to figure out what nutes to use in the future.

I think you can make the bucket pretty small. There was another thread where they were in styrofoam cups. It was probably a 12 oz cup with a hole punched in the bottom side and filled with vermiculite. So pretty small I am thinking. I have not used this bucket system ever I want to do one outside but have no yard at the moment.

yes you can I am running 16 oz cups currently, my last run was in 32oz cups and I felt I could get away with something smaller...the size of the whole doesnt have to be exact, big enough for water to come out, but small enough so the perlite stays in.....:joint:

I swcrewd up.

The Perlite has miracle grow in it.

You can see I burned the baby before i realized my mistake.

I have not fed them again since I burned them,
and they are recovering,
but i hate the perlite with nutes.
so sad.

I got some new perlite and vermiculite, without nutes.

I planted some of the grape cindy and some chemo cindy
into a 5 gl bucket
I traded from my neighbor
for a grape baby.

I put one gl of water in the bucket
and drilled a 3/8 hole at the water line.

I transplanted all the cup starts
to bigger buckets.
