very nice earl. I am a soiless man my self either promix or coco coir. I reall like the Hempy bucket idea I might give it shot next time. I think I will try using some coc in it though. 70% perlite 30% coco
I am using three scoops of perlite and one scoop of vermiculite.

The perlite kinda floats to the top,
and it is kinda tricky to water
without floating the roots and plant
right out of the bucket.

But it is not a steep learning curve,
and if I can do it,
then most can master it.

I am using coco plugs in the media
to start the seeds,
but the coco wants to float out also.

Some guys are using perlite and grow-rocks.

I am just trying to follow hempy's original method,
and I like it.

It is kinda messy compared to the space shuttle,
and requires more "hands on" time.

But it is very cheap once you get all the stuff,
and I think if you use RO,
you could do the whole grow without any meters.

Been watching your HGS cross in your new hempy...should be a killer cross, some serious lineage behind those two. Both produce a load of resin I hear. The plastic cup sleeve is genius. I ended up just dropping in a 3"x3" rockwool in the hempy medium. I'm following your lead with the hempy...one HGS super strain crossed w/ hash plant and one white widow.

R/O @5.6PH hmm?..... will dial my liquids into that.

here's to girls!

Thanks,
I had to go ahead and move them indoors
so they could get more than 12 hours of light.

I started two each WW, PC, Durban Poison,
and Thai Cross.

According to the first post in this thread,
I am pretty sure
I planted these on the 20 th of July 08

I probly left out the "planting seeds today" in that post.

Good luck with your HBs

I just got back from texas
and was happy to find they didn't even need water yet.

I drenched them with RO saturday night,
and they are still good on wed.

I also shut down the two big lights
and just ran the curly floros 24/7.

I have sexed a couple of nice girls
and I will start taking some cuttings soon.

Today they will start a little training for a week or so ,
to stretch out those lower branches.

I'm gonna bonsai some small canna-trees in these buckets.

I want to veg a couple under some cfl's for a year,
or until they auto-flower.

I think I can keep one vegging for a year,
if I can keep my excursions down to 5-7 days.

It is ghetto growing at it's best.
I've spent about a hundo on pots and perlite/vermiculite,
got a few free buckets.

The one gallon might be best for the bonsai.

The five gallon bucket is best for flowering and big plants.

I may not ever flower any big plants in the HBs,
cause I'll use the shuttle for that.
we'll see.

I'm feeding 50% nutes today.
