More good news.

I can see why everyone said to be patient with the clones now. After I took that new set of clones the other day, I just closed the dome and let them sit in there. I didn't want to disturb the new cuttings, so I gave them a couple days just go get situated toward the light.

Well, today I open the dome and go to check on them all and like the first 3 clones I pick up of the WC all had a lot of root poking out. I now have 9 rooted! There are like 2 more that have like 1 or 2 taproots poking out too. So they seem to clone very well for me. That is great!
I am going to be doing a lot of transplanting today. All the seedlings are going into 1 gallon pots, all the rooted clones are going into the cups that the seedlings are going into. So the next generation is going in along with the DSD seeds.

The DSD seeds cracked too!! I forget if I said this already but I am 9/10 on them so far. So I put them in the peat moss pellets so I hope they will pop within the next couple of days then they too will go in the dome for a couple of weeks, then under the floros then in the flower room to find out which one is the keeper. I think there are just like 2 distinct phenos in these seeds so I hope they are pretty uniform. There is a Sour D dominate one then a Strawberry Cough dominate on. MMMMM Sour Berry.... wait.. will that even taste good?

WC's will be flowered tommrow. Day 1!

Thank you. That really means a lot to me comming from someone like you. bongsmilie

This whole project is going really well, I am glad I have great people looking out for me too. That makes a world of difference. There is a lot of good energy around this I feel. Not to be a hippy or anything.

This will payoff for the whole community too. Im sure they will be happy to have another dank 'elite cut' around. Look at me already calling it an 'elite' but you know what I mean. A cut that is guarenteed to be proven danky. Don't worry I look out for my people too.

I also think I found out what was causing the yellowing.
Ganja Guerrilla's Hall of Marijuana Plant Abuse

look at that. I think it will go to the right page. It says ph problem.
When I flushed I did not ph that water. I just got it and pured it in. The ph of that distilled water for the machine is way off. Sometimes I get it and it is 7 and sometimes I get it and is is under 5. This was probably a major factor I am thinking as well as the lack of nutes for like 5 days.

So when I flush I need to flush with ph'ed water right? This was the problem I think.
Oh well, now I am ph'ing my water on every feeding. The AN has something in it that pretty much puts it where I need it I think. Everytime I check the ph after I add nutes it is right on and I have never had to adjust it when I feed em...

Awesome. I hope some people will be stoaked on this cut.

I know C99 is really saught after and not really available. No seed companies have the original in stock. Bros. Grimm is no longer around. I know Resivor Seeds is going to put out a batch like I was saying but they just lost their seed crop supposedly and the new one will be out in like 4 months, but that is probably rushing it, I know that company lags.

I will pick out the dankest cut out of the batch, and the one that is easiest to grow with the biggest nuggs. I think I know what one it will be already but you know the real test is just to flower it out and try it yourself.

Yep, PH Balance is Key to Flushing. When I flush, I put a little fresh lemon juice, and a tiny bit of superthrive (no more superthrive though!) in the water, the plants Love it. I am going to do it tomorrow actually... I check the ph of the runoff water when I water normally (today was a feeding day, and always right on the money with the PH), and it is a little high because its flushing the feeding from the day before, so when I do a full flush, I add the lemon juice to drop the PH, and the Superthrive to provide an immediate boost without worry of burning or lock or PH or anything... then next feeding is light, then heavier, then FAT, then water like normal (run off has high PH) and Flush the shit out of it, then start over again. This process takes about 2 1/2 weeks for me, sometimes I let it go for three, depending on the plant and environment. Well, sorry to rant on in your thread, but thats how I do it....

On another note, my C-99 seeds came from inner breeding the original Brothers seeds, and I am very happy thus far. It turns out I have another C-99 seedling hidden away indoors... but shhh, hehe lol... yeah everyone wants it. I am hoping it can be a Mommy and even Grandma for years to come! :D.....
definitely a N lockout that was very well PH related, but you've got it taken care of... ;)...

Anyone got any names they think would be good for this cut? I know it would be best to really wait and see how the flowers turn out but Im starting to think now.... hhhhmmm any iders?

I remember that episode of your grow. I deal in water quality alot and I cant tell you how poorly maintained those water vending machines can be. Im wondering if its your pH pen though. Do you calibrate regularly? Are your calibration solutions expired? Which ones do you use (4 and 7 or 10 and 4 or 7 and 10)? The runoff, as TLD said, is the key. If the nutes are concentrated in the soil the runoff pH should be low or the ppm high. Again as TLD said, if you plan a scheduled flushing in your feeding schedule you can avoid lockout conditions unless you overfeed. Regardless, your going in the right direction now and fatnuggs are on the way.

That is probably one problem is that I don't have a ph pen yet. I use a fish tank ph tester. The solution is good still. It is just really hard to use because the chart you compare the solution to starts at 6.0. You cant really tell if it is lower than 6. The solution doesn't really change at all if the ph is lower than 6 either.

I need to get a real ph tester or a kit that is used for hydro.

When I flushed I did not ph the water at all so who knows what it was. Probably really low.

I took a shit ton of branches off. I still need to get the rest of the plants.

I 'lollipoped' 2 of them and took off like 10 branches off each that I am in the process of cloning right now. I will get some pics so you guys can let me know how I did.

They are in 36hrs of darkness right now. The light will go back on at 6 and be one from 6 at night to 6 in the morning. I will have to put it on the timer cuz you know I aint up at 6 in the morn!

So there is a bunch more cuts. I feel like I am rasing a little army!! Hahaha. They keep multiplying! I really can't wait till I have enough clone stock to do a whole batch of the 'H'. I think that is going to be the winner. I will have one (Im sure it will be the 'H' after it gets more tested and I can dial it in and run with co2 and in aero) that will be more 'popular' and more available. Like the one that I give to the clubs and people looking to try it out. Then there will be another that is more special and kept more under wraps that just people that have helped and everything will get. It will be the 'special cut'. That one will probably be 'F'. I think I may have one more cut that will be for the SoGers and people that run like an aero setup that requires a lot of single cola plants grown small. This will be rater limited too.

So there will be the basic cut, then the special cut (I am thinking if one is purple or shows more color than the rest it will be this one too), then possibly the 'hydro cut' (single cola plant style). Its all looking quite well and sould have no problem pulling it off. That one plant that looks really yellow isn't looking so well, its like burning up. I know it really isn't burning but it is wilting really bad. I don't know I am going to leave it but I don't have my expectations too high for it.

Well the WC's are in darkness so I dont want to disturb them so here are some pictures from the other side of the garden

Here is the 'nasty' clone tray. I havent cleaned it cuz I dont want to disturb the new cuttings. I will very soon. Promise.

Here are all of the bigger ones. These are vegging and I take cuts of them. I am going to get them big and then when I weed out the males from the WC's I will put these in their spot. They are mostily 'elite' cuts.

Back left to rigth: Banana OG, Snowcap, 818 Kush, Purple Voodoo
Second row of bigger square pots: Bubba Kush, GDP, Pure Kush, Aquemini (bagseed), Braineater (bagseed) and Dabney Blueberry.

Small red cups: mostly Godzilla with some SnowCap and the WC are being put in there too. The paper plate has all WC's on it too.

See here is the WC clones that took root. You can see the roots a little in this pic. Doing well..

Double Strawberry Deisel germing.

I will let you know how it tastes in 150 days.

Right on. I will get on that clean job. Those little peat moss pellets are just really weak. Nothing like the cubes really. I seem to have better success rates with the pellets but the inside is like mush and if you mess with them too much the just trun the whole thing to much. If you just keep em in the water for the right amount of time, not to long not to short, they are good to go.
:peace:
p.s. you can see my 2x4 tray needs a good wash too. It is my goal to go completely soiless by next summer. I already have most of the gear just need a good water chiller and I want to get the hanna tri-meter to keep on top of the res.

from my experience, in weighing the issues of hyrdo, aero, and soil growing, soil weighs in at the best way to grow. There are many many reasons that I have for saying it, and I have done my best to look at all the viewpoints, plusses and drawbacks, of each method of growing.... but taking into account all the different variables, soil comes out on top, then Hydro, and then Aero...

and cup your hands to fit nice and gently around those peat moss pellets, its the vibrations that turns them to mush... so try to tame those shaky hands and you will be fine... a clean grow helps insure against pests and diseases (though I am one to talk right? My garage is filthy and full of wildlife... lol)... I just have too much going on to take my own advice sometimes... like right now its 2:18, I had a 2:00 appointment and its an hour drive away... lol, don't think Im gunna make it... I would assume that the mess in your veg area is from drainage right? If you stretch a screen around the inside of the pots and put the pebbles and soil on top of it, you will see virtually no runoff soil.

Its a hot debate. Don't get Earl mad at you know. hahahaha. He is the aero guru. I know a lot of people say that soil it the way to go. I know DJ short swares by it and so does Soma as well as many many others. I was just thinking that for my situation, limited space, carpet I don't want to get messy, space wise, etc. it may be better to go aero. I already have the aero table, It looks like this:

but like I was saying, the water was getting way too hot and I need the chiller as well as an accurate way to test the ph and ppm aswell as water temp so the tri meter is also a must. I guess there is just more to think about now. I will be doing at least 4 more harvests with soil, then I may try the aero again and see how that goes. I like how it is more 'scientific' but it may be more trouble than it is worth. Its all trial and error.
I would just think it would be nice to have a little 'space age' grow hut set up with the co2 monitor (Harvest Master?) and the environmental contol controlling my hemp and humidity as well as computers controlling my water and nutes. Hhhhmmm just a thought and something to work toward. We will have to see how it comes out gram for gram and also over quality. I am thinking that the aero may produce more faster but it won't have that 'organic' look and taste to it that everyone loves so much. If or when I do go aero I want to use the organic hydro nutes. I know there are a couple of companies that have organic lines for hydro use. A lot to think about for sure.

When I do this I will also have to get that RO machine going too. This would be more money and more work as well. One more thing to worry about, but in the long run will make my life easier than how I have to get 5 gallon jugs all the time...

Also with the hydro or aero setup it seems like there will be 'x' amount of 'sites' availible that I will have to sysematically fill and if one of those plants die for some reason I could probably be up the creek finding another plant that is that same age or height. Thinking Thinking Thinking....

hahahahaha. Yeah I could never be a sergeon. It seems that some go to mush just sitting the water and expanding. I will work on being more gental with the pellets. I sould be getting some grow cubes by the end of the week. These are better too becuase they can go in a hydro system better. I think if you put those peat moss pellets in a hydro system they would gum it up cuz there is a lot of loose peat moss in the bottom of the tray after I 'expand them'.

Hope you made it to you appointment on time. I know if you were going to a doctor sometimes if you are too late that skip you and charge you to come back which sucks big time.

That is a really good tip about the screen and pebbles. The soil is comming from the bottom mostly, hardily ever but sometimes I water and some sloshes out the top. I need to fill the containers up a little less with soil, correct. If I leave like a half inch or maybe an inch of space from the top the water would never overflow and wouldn't take any soil with it. Another reason I am concidering going aero, no mess in the tray, but I guess there are ways around it.

What kind of screen would you reccomend? Do I just go to home depot and ask them for some screen? Do I have to tell them a micron size or just tell em to 'gimmie some screen dang it!'

In those square white pots I don't really put the little clay pebbles in the bottom I was at one point but it is more of a mess when I transplant them into the black round pots later. When I put them in the black pots I put the pebbles in the bottom because that is their final resting spot. I really do like pebbles on the bottom of my pots and also on the top cuz they make for a more 'even watering' and also I can see when there is icky salt build up.

Thanks for the tip man! Talk to ya soon!
