Ok well I started my other batch in egg shells, was watching a youtube video and saw that they used actual egg shells to start off the plants, anyway just wanted to know has anyone ever tried this before? anyway any advice as when I should start using root juice on them also if the eggshell in which they are in naturally breaks? any advice is greatly appreciated thanks again...:weed:

the samonilla provides nitrogen and other food from the sell. I wouldn't do that method..

I cook egg shells. Mash them down to powder with a pestle and mortar. Then dump the egg shells into my worm bin. You can mix them in the soil too. You want to make sure they are cooked and in powder form. Otherwise they will take forever to break down.

Shells can go right into the compost bin. Idk about the salmonella thing. I'll look it up tomorrow but i'm skeptical.

I've heard about this when growing tomatoes. They say to put crushed up egg shells at the bottom of the hole. I think it may be an old wives tale, but I'm not sure. I have also heard that epsom salt in the bottom of the hole is supposed to be good for yield (with tomatoes anyhow). I would assume if it works for tomatoes, it would probably work for cannabis. They may both be wives tales, as the people who told me to do it couldn't tell me why it works.

That is because Epsom is a source of magnesium and egg shells are a source of calcium. Not 100% on the names of the exact products those elements come in. Hyroot has the right idea, you need to prepare the shells in such a way. Otherwise, they're compost like danny said.

I've heard that before...calcium helps stop "bud end rot" on tomatoes.

Well this is what I have been doing with all my egg shells and eaten bananas crushing the egg shells and grinding them down to powder and throwing it in the pot, and as for the banana peels I dry them naturally and when they are nice and dry I grind them to dust and toss it in with the FFOF

I've got about 350g of banna peel powder I plan to add to tje soil mix on my next run. High potassium, apparently. Not sure how far it will go and still be a useful additive. Luckily, my boys have been known to demolish a whole bunch in a day, the monkeys, so by next run I should have half a kg easy! That's a lot of powder looking like magic mushrooms in a jar in the kitchen.
