Maybe if I swap out the 1,000 watt oil filled radiator for a 500watt oil filled radiator that will reduce the costs by 50%?

I think my problem is that the oil filled radiator is pulling 1,000 watts, even turned down on a low setting it's still pulling 1,000 watts. And if 1kwh equals say 20 cents then every 10 hours it's using 2 dollars, so every day it's using about 4 or 5 dollars?

I just checked with the wife on our electric and gas bills. We are on a averaging program and have been for 30 years with our utility companies. Electricity $170 a month and Nat. Gas $65 a month. Just pay the bills and move on...

Yeah I'm thinking that if I swap the heater out for a 500watt heater it will save 50% of the electric being used? I'm only running it on low, it's literally pulling 1,000 watts just to warm it up by 2 celsius
