Electric costs

Yeah, but in a last ditch attempt I'm going to try and get a smaller 500 watt heater and see if that fixes the electric being drained dude. And if that don't fix it I'm going to get out my digital ballast and dust it all down and hook it up to my 600 watt HPS and dim it to 250 watts. And if that don't fix it someone must be robbing my electric :bigjoint:
Just add 500watts more of light, it will create the same heat as a 500watt heater, and you get light as a byproduct.

Because you think that your other heater runs at maximum all the time ?
Im telling you it takes the amount of heat it takes to heat your space regardless of wattage
If I were you I would stop throwing money at a method that won’t work
You can’t just put a smaller heater in or everyone’s homes would have the tiniest heating systems
But you can insulate or modify the area
You seem convinced yet you say you are broke but you are going to buy another heater
I’m so confused
So all of this LED equipment and inkbirds were a waste of time then? when I can just run a HPS bulb and save loads of money and get free heat from the bulb?

But the temperature rise in the tent is directly related to the amount of air extracted.
Slower the fan is, warmer the tent.

Your using a heater to heat a space which is going straight out of your fan.

If that doesn't work then just plug your hps in and it won't matter if its only 20degree C and you still won't need the heater.

No point running a 500w heater and dimming to 250w on light if you can run 600w of hps and no heater.
I want there to be a decent amount of air circulation though, I fear that if I turn it down too low they won't get enough air

I spent £700 on this lumatek 465w pro led, I can't just stop using it. It would be a big waste of money. But then again, if I keep using it. It's going to cost me loads on the electric heater. and my seedlings are suffering from nutrient def now. But I know that's because I was only giving them water and no nutrients. I'm kind of shooting myself in the foot here :(

Can’t you just put it away till the summer ?
I know it’s new but if ya can’t afford to throw away money why do it
That light doesn’t grow better weed than an hps

I suppose I could but I really don't want to put it away now I have spent £700 on it. If I get my 600 watt HPS out then I don't understand.... because I can just get a 500watt heater which should surely heat a 4x4 tent? And then with my led light dimmed to 25% it's only pulling 100watts anyway, which is equivalent to a 600watt HPS when you think about it. A 500watt heater and a 100watts of LED dimmed to 25% is 600 watts. The same as a HPS. I think I have a messed up oil radiator and it's pulling the maximum 2,000 watts from the wall which is costing me all of this money in Electric?

What is your reluctance to use a bulb as a heater then?
this isn’t some show and tell stuff where your measured by your system
It’s a way to grow great weed and if you aren’t gonna use that heater just add a normal light even a 100 watt one

Currently my set up is a 4x4 with cmh for veg.
that vents directly into my 4x8 flower tent with a 4 inch fan turned down.
The flower tent has approx 1200w of LED , its already taking warmer air from the veg tent and the flower tent has 6" silent box fan which has about 180m3h at max. (Low for a 6" fan) Edit. Sry it's 360m3h, not 180
That fans on number 2 of 5 on a variac speed controller in winter. It's currently on 3. In summer itl be on 5.

The RH is fine.
The temp is fine.
The plants are growing fine despite a low air exchange .

Point is you have the option to turn your fan down to help reduce your heating requirements and your not doing it.

I skipped a bunch of pages. Why do you mean your electric was off? The breaker tripped? Sound like something is arcing and drawing way more amps than it should be. I'd be checking your plugs and connections. This could be very dangerous for you and end up bad.

Turn the heater off and back down on the exhaust fan. Little seedlings don't need all that exhaust fan. Didn't you say you had a Inkbird? Which one? You might be able to use it to control the exhaust fan and humidifier. My little shack has central heat and air. Room temp the tent is in is 73f@31%rh. Tent is 79f@70%rh. Have a AC Infinity T6 controling the heat in the tent a humidifier in the tent controlled with a Inkbird. With 2ea HLG 100 V2's pulling 190 watts total keeping the tent nice and warm. What all do you have to work with???? I bet this can be fixed and managed with what you have....

All sorts of gunpowder, reloading presses, ammo, guns, tools, motorcycle parts, electronics, tent, grow supplies in my little office man cave...
What are you making mostly? .38special low grain wadcutters for paper targets is what we (pops and I) mostly make and 12 gauge rounds. You pour your own too?
