Donald Trump's embrace of the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, hit another speedbump on Saturday as Musk's mom was accused of encouraging her followers to commit voter fraud.

Trump hosted a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend, where he had to pause the event for a medical emergency. Trump also welcomed Musk to the stage, and the social media company owner was ridiculed for his "low energy" performance.

Before that, Musk posted the following statement to his account on X, formerly called Twitter.

"Super important to get all your friends and family to register to vote," Musk wrote. "Georgia’s registration deadline is Monday!!"

Musk's own mother, Maye Musk, took that comment even further:

"The Democrats have given us another option. You don’t have to register to vote," she wrote Saturday. "On Election Day, have 10 fake names, go to 10 polling booths and vote 10 times. That’s 100 votes, and it’s not illegal. Maybe we should work the system too."

This prompted some extreme reactions.

Civil rights attorney Andrew C Laufer said, "That is illegal. Do you have any credible evidence Democrats are engaging in that practice?"

Retired lawyer Tirah Att also chimed in:

"It is, of course, completely illegal to do what you suggest. I’m not sure if you thought you were making a joke, but if so, it’s not particularly amusing."

Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis told her, "This is super illegal."

Radio host and journalist Kai Ryssdal replied, "Federal crime, right here."

Special correspondent Molly Jong-Fast said, "This is voter fraud."

Hundreds of other users tagged the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.

Even far-right influencer Joey Mannarino warned her:

"Be careful with this post. They arrest people for stuff like this. They arrested some meme guy. I know you’re joking but these people are human scum and could try and prosecute. You’re too much of a treasure to see go through that!"

I somehow don't think Leon's endorsement is gonna have the desired effect.
What a freak show.

lmao for real, the nepo-spawn of a South African profiteer went full blown nut. From the couple clips I saw it got dark fast.

I was curious what others thought of the crowd once the music started up around 14:50:

Musk goes full propagandist nazi starting about 45:45 minutes in.

So many conflicts of interest, and obviously talking to Putin regularly raises more. Considering Putin has been meddling in American elections for at least a decade, actively trying and unfortunately succeeding in destabilizing the country, I just can't see this being a good thing.

Elon and trump are perfect bedfellows. Both have a great propensity to lie and mislead. His continual promises of full self driving match up with dumpy while he was president often stating he'd have an infrastructure bill in a couple weeks. Neither have any qualms about lying. It seems half the electorate have had their dissatisfaction with life, converted to outright hate for the "other" just from lies.

Oh Elon....

hope your ready for this, the DOJ told you to stop, and now your getting sued......
Probably a $5000 fine or something...getting sued won't stop elon, he's a huge government contractor, he's playing with house money.

Fines aren't likley to deter elon. Now if the DOJ started chargimg him with crimes like 'election interference' they might get his attention.
let see what happens, i know the DOJ is watching him, and everytime he does this, is more evidence against him if they do....
