Emergency Response Plan??? Save my last survivor!

Ok have a thread in the dwc section but it's not going far maybe you folks can help. I'm down to my last clone in 5 gal dwc she was great when I put her in about a weeks and a half ago and has grown in size since but has never been perky past day one and now my fan leafs are going sold yellow and she is always droopy at this rate she's going down hill fast. Ppms were 500 at res change with AN sensi a and b plus b52. My tents temps are high 70's I can't get em lower I'm trying and my light is 600 hps air cooled and yes I'm pretty sure I'm battling root rot too :( what should my immediate response plan be lights come on at 6pm please help

You need to fix your root rot issues. Make sure your rez temps are not too high and make sure you have adequate bubblers that are clean.

Do you think it's the root rot causing most of my issues? I'm Low on funds with the first coming up I can get some h202 as a cheap fix is this my best option or do you have any other low cost solutions? What should my actions be tonight when I turn her on? Thank you for helping bro

Yes, I think root rot is probably causing your issue (you haven't posted a pic so that might help). It will shut down nutrient and water uptake. Search the hydro section for oodles of threads on treatment options.

are the roots brown and slimy?

peroxide, SM-90 or dutchmaster zone would all work. but if your temps are high (mid 70's or higher) you are just putting a band-aid on.

is your pH correct?
could have a few issues at the same time.

Yes brown and slimy roots for sure and I adjust my ph to 5.8 daily but it rises to 7 every day and I don't know why. Would hydroguard fix this ? I've grown hydro before no issues this time around I'm killing them one by one. Maybe someone can answer this question what should I buy today after work to fix this and what steps should I take tonight to make progress like dump res flush plant anything like that so I can put this to action tonight at 6pm

are you near a hydro store? can you get any of the 3 items i suggested quickly?

pH rising because of root rot. i personally used dutchmaster zone. what is nice about it is you can use it mild, medium or strong depending on your water temps.

i'd dump res, fill up with ph'd water (5.8) and put one of the 3 into the res too and just let it work and hope for the best.

in dwc, you have 2 options. sterile or beneficial bacteria in your res. i liked sterile myself. kills all the nasties.

Ok so I went to my local hydro shop and was browsing the products when I as usual was asked if I needed help and proceeded to tell him my issue he just so happened to have ordered this product for a large customer who swears by it and had samples he got with the order the product Is called Atak by optical foliar I got a small bottle free I checked the site and it says kills root rot and prevents it in the future so I got home dumped the res washed the crap out of my bucket my stones and my lines then Phd the water and added the recommended dose for attacking the rot 2 ml per gallon and put it all together after only 3hrs the roots are way better looking he said run this for 2 days any other insight?

after the 2 days, i'd run just H2O for at least a day or 2. then give her light nutes and work her back up to normal. don't rush anything.

I thank you all and wish I had access to the like button lol when I got home roots were covered in brown slime it was dark and now the look like they are getting better

good to hear. unfortunately, i've been there/done that a long time ago when i started DWC.

is that plant in flower now? or still just in veg mode?

that's good. it should recover easier in veg mode.

you ever think about running lights 24/0 for veg mode? are they on 18/6 now?

You guessed her 18/6 my problem is temp both in my res and in my tent it's 2x4x50 and I've got a 6" fan and filter on the exaust but nothing to bring cold in and my attempts at passive intake have yielded little to no results my temps flux between 81 and 77 I can't get it lower even with my lights off so 24/0 sounded like not a good idea any ideas on getting temps down and also res temps ??

res temps are going to be a problem no matter what you do. the res additive you put in will get you by but if you want to stick with DWC, i'd suggest looking at getting an aquarium chiller. if you keep your res around 65 to 68, you'll have no problems and the growth will be incredible.

81 is not bad for veg at all. when you get above 85, you can have some issues.

alot of people will argue with me (this is my 19th grow), but 24/0 is the best for veg. i wouldn't try it just yet but once you give them a good flush and start back on light nutes, i'd switch. you get faster growth and tighter node spacing on the plant.

what kind of light do you have? could you put a pic of the whole tent so i can get a better idea of what your setup is?

I'm running a 600 hps/MH ballast with ushio hps bulb and thanks I was worried about them temps now I feel a lil better lol here is my tent set up
