I'm running a 600 hps/MH ballast with ushio hps bulb and thanks I was worried about them temps now I feel a lil better lol here is my tent set up
thanks for the pic.

couple of questions:
where is your ballast for the light? in the tent or outside?

for your reflector, i see the one side goes thru 6" duct to the fan to the muffler. what is on the other side? do you have ducting to outside the tent? or is it just open?

do you have a fan speed controller?

do you keep the tent shut all the time? what temp is the room that the tent is in?

So I have my ballast and pumps outside the tent and yeah I'm running the fan sucking air through the hood and open on one side I close the tent up because it seems to suck more air in but doesn't provide the cooling I desire but when I see 82+ in temps I open it up to see if it helps and finally the temp in my room is 70 ish but it's our bedroom and cant freeze the wife so I can't do much about the room temp lol any thoughts? Thanks man your help is very appreciated

i would try this:

run another piece of 6" duct on the open side of the reflector to outside the tent ( hopefully there is another port in the tent to use). now you'd be sucking bedroom air thru the whole reflector and back out to the bedroom

there is glass in the reflector?

Yes brown and slimy roots for sure and I adjust my ph to 5.8 daily but it rises to 7 every day and I don't know why. Would hydroguard fix this ? I've grown hydro before no issues this time around I'm killing them one by one. Maybe someone can answer this question what should I buy today after work to fix this and what steps should I take tonight to make progress like dump res flush plant anything like that so I can put this to action tonight at 6pm
You need to reduce the temps in the res.

You need...
- H2o2 asap
- Cool the water
- Make sure you don't have any light reaching the roots
- Change the water every day for a week
- Make sure your air pimps are bubbling nicely

This is the main issue with dwc. I would tend to bleach everything and thoroughly rinse equipment if you don't get through this you need to kill everything including all buckets and tubes.

So yes there is glass in the reflector and i can run duct to the outside through the port on the side at the top how do I get cold air into the tent if my hood is a closed circuit? And yeah I'm gonna try to insulate the bucket I read that can be effective we will see and also considering converting to rdwc with my res outside the tent maybe I don't know I just need to do something fast lol

you'll have to experiment but i'm thinking the closed circuit setup should hardly give off any heat from the bulb/reflector. i have a 600 too in a cool tube and with my 6" fan halfspeed i can touch my glass. is there a third port on the bottom of the tent that you could open and put a small fan in front of to blow fresh air in? or maybe leave the tent flap open a bit? just try different combos and as long as you can keep it in the high 70's low 80s you'll be fine.

since your plant is recuperating, i'd put the light about 24". after the roots come back, you can always lower it later. let's get her back healthy and go from there.

after trying the single buckets dwc, i built a 4 site rdwc with a chiller etc. it grew some huge plants and the root balls were at least as big as basketballs. shoot me a PM later and i'll give you the lowdown of how i built it. i'll try to find some pics too.

Thanks man so here's an update on day two of attacking the rot my roots are still off color but no slime and waay less brown not to mention I had newer whiter roots with hairs and everything growing. So as planned I'm going to re introduce nutrients AN sensi grow a and b what ppm should I dose em with to get back to health? Should I add the b52 yet?

have you given them 24hrs of just ph'd water? even 48 wouldn't hurt. a good. rule of thumb for DWC is as soon as you see a problem, dump your res and give them a 24hr flush

i use EC not ppm but i would start around 0.25EC (250 to 500ppm) for at least a few days. slowly work up from there. just use nutes for now. add the b52 when you start seeing some good growth. i'd keep using that Atak too. do they have a normal dose?

new white roots is great! on the right track.
did you test the closed circuit on the light? curious if that works better.

if you're ever in Colorado, you can buy me a beer.

i've never foliar fed. she can get all she needs from the roots.

Ok so I cleaned the res again and added the base line dose of atak 1ml per gallon so 2.5ml to my water along with 200ppm of nutes and inoculated with my great white ph is at 5.8 and tent temp is 75.

old roots will stay brown. as long as the new ones stay white, all is well. just let her do her thing now.

one thing i thought of: see if the Atak will kill off the Great White? and if you were using the Great White and still got the nasties, I'd stop using it anyway. i think you'd be better off with a sterile res.

yeah i read you can still use it with the Mycorrizae i guess it still works and that was added before i got the rot but im pretty sure it was temps and light in my bucket that got me there. i added more hydroton and have got the temps in order i also gonna switch to 20/4 only reason for the 4 dark is to save a tiny bit on power over the long run. When do i feed again with higher ppm nutes? im at 200 right now and they are really perking up but those fan leaves that were all going yellow the big two of them finished going all the way yellow but the rest of the plant and the new growth looks nice and green i went ahead and clipped those leaves that were toasted plus they were blocking some nice looking side growth thats starting to branch out ill post pics later for sure

as long as you are getting new roots and new growth, slowly increase the ppms back up. just watch for tip burn and if you see it, back off the nutes a bit. sounds like she's doing ok now.
