Empty cargo container giving me ideas...

Hey everyone, new member here! Back home on the farm, I cleaned out my cargo container today. About 40' X 8' X 8'. What a nasty mess of old grain, rat shit, and cobwebs haha!! Looks like I'll be designated grower for some medical guys soon so I best start at least planning some things out. Right now this seems a bit daunting as I have two years of outdoor growing under my belt but only minimal indoor experience. Brainstorming right now: 4 to 6 1000W on light rails (depending how long the rails are) Bio-buckets hydroponics setup From what I've read heat and condensation issues are the biggest problem with containers... what kind of insulation options are best? I'm in Atlantic Canada. Got a picture but clicking "manage attachments" does absolutely nothing hmmmm...

Have heard of Shipping containers being used for grow facilities.
Even saw a vid. I think it was 20 of those containers buried and used to grow weed. I think it was in Western Canada.
They got busted.

Don't quote me on location, memory is going..LOL

Research on shipping container houses. They would have to deal with the same issues and have been done, plenty of info out. I was working on one until funds ran out before completion sadly. I really wanted to see that thing finished, looked like it'd be real cool.

Good point! I'm hitting my local grow shop soon to get an idea on what this will cost me. I think the electrical will be the biggest headache and expense. I don't trust myself enough to do it, but I don't want to use a local electrician to do it either... I live in a small town and people talk... maybe use an electrician from further away?

I have one of these going right now. I used all solar foam board for the insulation. My flower room I use about 30ft of the container then I framed in a door to seperate my flower room from my veg room(uses the last 10ft). I have 6 1000w hps lights for flower and two 1000w mh in the veg room. I will try to get a few pics up for ya tommorrow. Works great! Power is considerally cheaper for me since its commercial 3 phase. Be aware setting up one of these is a lot more expensive than most growers think. Im into mine probaly 10k without labor and Im only doing soil.
