i found no marked difference between 24/0, 20/4, or 18/6 regarding growth rate, rate of males to females, potency or taste
24/0 was warmer and 18/6 was cooler - that was about the only difference i noted.

18/6 here only used 24/0 for two things....

-first two weeks of seedlings
-first week of cloning

From seed or clone untill rooted I use 24 hour light. Once rooted and in larger pots I switch to 18/6. I don't know why and if there is any difference just have always done it this way, lol.:peace:

I read an article by Jorge Cervantes in which he states that 24/0 is ideal for vegitative growth velocity with no advantage to the 18/6 cycle. I have heard others talk about increased root development from an 18/6 regimen.

I'll see if I can find a link to that article.

Good luck

when i was clonin,i had the lights on 24/0 for the first week and the second week but durin the 2nd week didnt see no improvement whatsoever so i switched to 18/6 about mid of 2nd week and bam the very next day roots came in and the days after they just went nuts.............:joint:

last grow i did 18/6 this grow i did 24/0 and the 18/6 seemed to have less stretch
they are the same clones from the same plants.
im trying to harvest every 2 weeks now so the 24/0 seems to be what i want
because the side branches stretch fast and i can take "bigger" (longer) clones which seems to impove my rooting success
for instance after they're rooted they go into my veg room for 2-3 weeks then i take clones for next set. the veg in that 3 week period at 24/0 gives me longer branches to work with this has been my observation

I figure only make it natural. Plants outside are exposed to light and dark periods so we should mimic that when growing indoors. I use 18/6
