Americans react as Trump says he'll be arrested while New York prosecutor eyes charges

7,572 views Mar 18, 2023 #GlobalNews
Former U.S. president Donald Trump said in a post on his social media platform on Saturday that his arrest was imminent and had issued a call for his supporters to protest as a New York grand jury investigates hush money payments to women who alleged sexual encounters with the former president.

A Trump lawyer and spokesperson said there had been no communication from prosecutors, but Trump said on his platform that he expected to be taken into custody on Tuesday.

Americans reacted the same day to the news, with Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham both criticized the news with Pence calling it a "politically-charged" prosecution and Graham saying it would help Trump get re-elected in 2024. Trump supporters in Palm Beach, Fla. also showed their support, saying the former president would still win. Other Americans in Washington, D.C. had differing opinions, however, with one man saying it would likely bring out his base while another woman said she looked forward "to justice being done."

‘Let your woke flag fly’: Psaki picks apart GOP’s war on wokeism

Jen Psaki discusses Republicans "anti-woke" message. “Just two cents from someone who has worked in communications - if you can’t explain it and people don’t understand it… it may not be the winning message you think it is.”

I wonder if republicans will drop the term "woke", it doesn't resonate and there seems to be no way to change its context. I mean liberal was damn near a curse word at one point, another word they don't have a clue about. Better awake than sleep walking through life in Trump's nightmare and being an unconscious sucker and useful idiot, a programmed dummy thrown into a voting booth. I think WOKE tee shirts might even sell. I wonder, do the republicans privately refer to their base as "meat", like the Russians do to their mobiks? Both have equal levels of contempt for their suckers, I know foxnews refers to them as "cousin fucking terrorists" privately, while publicly stringing them along, that is contempt.

After all we've seen, do you seriously think facts and reality matter to Trump's hardcore fan
Just because THEY are disconnected from the reality world doesn’t mean the context of reality no longer matters. They’ll wake up from their fairy tales, or not, in their own good time (we fervently hope).

Makes no difference: we needn’t take fairy tales into account in matters of public policy, the general welfare, national defense, or any other areas of the nation’s tasks and/or the people’s business. Knowing that THEY do, however, should make it easier to laugh at them AND outmaneuver them. The current House majority is a clown car looking for places to start fires, pointing & laughing ought to do wonders

Republicans....smh
Indiana's BMV makes millions selling your personal information, and they don't even tell you they're doing it
Your name, birthday, addresses, car type and your license plate number are for sale
VERY carefully and deliberately kept legal in service to the financial sector. “Credit reporting agencies” like Equfax & Choicepoint & TRW are personal-information scavengers, harvesters and sellers. They perform no true service to the street-level consumer. B2B is their bread & butter

I love her….

like everyone, it seems, I have a definition of ‘woke’: acceptance of the reality of things you have learned; refusal to have the evidence explained away for you; the inability to pretend that you have not seen what you have seen - the awareness that you cannot stop seeing what is right in front of you.

The bible (“the book”) speaks of removing the beam from one’s own eye (humility, healthy shame, self-awareness), of not casting the first stone (self-awareness & self-examination). “Heaven is laid out before you, but you see it not”…turning a blind eye to the works of Heaven…being pointed toward the full moon, but seeing only the finger….

BE NOT DECEIVED!

These are people who STUDY how to be SALESMEN…they get confused enough, they’ll opt for making a Buck & double down on the stupid because that’s the way things are going - and otherwise keep to the script as best they can…gasping old protodons…. THAT’s how the wheel gets pushed, that as much as any other thing has helped us arrive here today

It will be full circle with Donald back home in the big apple, he was always the worm in the big apple anyway. Soap on a rope mailed as a gift could send an innocent message that might go under the SS radar.... Maybe a brochure with transparent radios and TVs designed for prison use? Surely someone must have written a "survival guide" for prison. "How to do time for dummies" might be a useful title.
