Exhaust and UCDWC questions

Thanks in advance to all who are willing to help here.

Ok first things first. I am looking into upgrading my 5x5x7 grow tent (flowering tent) it is currently powered by a 600w hps atm. I had a 6" AA 400cfm fan pulling thru a Phresh filter and my a/c reflector

Filter/I. D./hood/I. D. Fan out of tent.

The fan was positioned on top of the tent and vented the hot air into the bedroom. I want to step up to a 1000 watt but only wanted to run one fan. I went out and bought a Complete Greenhouse Controller from C.A.P. but now i think i have just bought a useless item. My dilemma is this... if i set the controller to 75 when the lights go off the fan may not pull enough to clean the air. ( its 70-72 degrees in the room where the tents are). How do I cool the 1000 watter and clean the air using the controller? I wouldn't be pressed to use it but I'm going on vacations in the near future and want a little pom while I'm away. Wanna go automated.

That brings me to my next issue... I have been research ucdwc systems on this and other forums. Still have some questions. I can't seem to find/figure out where everyone the 2" to 3/4" PVC Tee to for the return lines?
I do not have an aqua chiller but i am willing to buy one... i haven't seen many ucdwc do good without them imho. any suggestions on brands? epoplus or active aqua? My whole goal is to run 4 plant site, one control bucket, and a reservoir with a chiller. How did you guys decide which chiller worked best for you?
I know to get a mag drive pump. amazon has danner 500gph and 700gph 6 dollar difference, is more water better here?

My budget for the whole thing is 800 bucks for the light, chiller the ucdwc components. Am i being reasonable? Worse case scenario i keep the 600w?:joint:

you'll want more than 400cfm to cool the 1k especially with a carbon filter on the same fan. Personally. I would keep the fan you have now, keep the carbon filter on it and buy an extra fan specifically for cooling the light and you won't have to worry about the air being scrubbed. The chiller will take a good chunk out of your budget. They are not cheap. I'd save the money and use frozen water bottles esppecially if you have the time too freeze a couple and drop them in before you go.
Hopefully someone with a little more experience with ucdwc can chime in on that. As far as the cap controller goes its more for sealed room applications but you would still be able to use it with the 2 fans. Good Luck.

Just thought I'd drop a line. I come from a heavy aquarium background and I can tell you right off the bat that the two brands of chillers you mentioned are shoddy at best, and are not even close to what is considered top of the line. Not sure if that matters to you or not. Chillers are one of the foundations of the aquaria world and we know them well. The world of Hydro, Current Culture included, for some reason is behind the times on this topic.
A Solid chiller manufacturer would be Teco.
Do your own due diligence and research of course, but just thought I'd try to help. By the way, you can pretty much entirely discount anybody telling you to drop water bottles in your res. It's essentially a pointless endeavor, unless your goal is to drop your water temps for a couple hours or so. I personally grow in what I consider to be a superior system to UC, but it's still a DWC system, and as a seasoned water culturist: I wouldn't even attempt the system without a Chiller. They are so epic to have. My 0.2

Thanks man for the info. Decided to go this route. Along the road picked up the LED bug. Cooler running lights, no need for two fans. My work schedule would only allow me to place frozen bottles in before i leave and maybe 3 hours before light cycle. Just going to save up for that aqua chiller.

Thanks man. The frozen bottle method does work, just have to be there constantly. Im going for a more automated feel to my garden so I'm going to take your advice and read up a little more on chillers. Anyone know how loud they are when they are run? looking at 1/4HP units.
