Exhausting inside room.

I have a tent inside a sealed room with A/C and I am going to start running CO2. I have 1x 1000 watt HPS inside of an air cooled reflector.

As long as my temps are fine, are there any issues with exhausting the air cooled light into the same room as the tent? I think this is much more stealth and no 6 inch duct holes have to be drilled in anywhere.

Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!

I run a tent with much less light but I exhaust into the room as well as draw my fresh air in the room.
Tent is in extra bedroom,
I keep my a/c on 73 and my tent stays 79-81 with 400 watts HPS and 190 watts T5 CFLs.
I take room air in thru a 6" dia. duct and inline fan and thru my hood and out about 6' away from tent via flex duct.
I have a carbon filter and another inline fan that vents the tent air scrubbed back into the room.
That fan creates negative pressure and helps with smell.
i have a passive air intake that is 4" dia. duct

I vent into the room as well but I have heat issues in the summer. 400wattHPS in a 3x3x5 tent in a closet

You have pretty much described my exact setup. I am new here, so I don't have any grow threads up yet, but that'll change soon. I have a 4x4 tent, with a 1000w in an air-cooled hood, single-stage exhaust by a 6" inline fan, blowing right back into the "sealed" room in which the tent resides. I have a window air-conditioner on its max setting keeping things cool. The temperature as measured 18" directly beneath the glass of the reflector is a high of 75 degrees and a low of 66 degrees. Perfect. Just harvested a little over a pound a couple of weeks ago!

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks bud and I will subscribe to your grow journals if you post.

For sure man. If you want to you can check out my journal over at icmag, called "hush grows up." I don't know if I can link to it here, and I don't want to break any rules, so I'll refrain. It's easy to find though using the thread title search over there.

I will definitely be starting a journal here, though, for my next run, once my clones are rooted and ready!

Ah that was a good read. Looks like you are pulling a pretty good yield from that 4x4. I noticed you said you had to go with a cheaper tent. If you end up re-buying your tent I can not recommend Gorilla Grow tents enough. They are such a high quality, great design, although the price is a little bit higher than competitors. I think the price increase is worth it. Check em out!

I can tell you to skip the Secret Jardin for its price it's not good enough in my opinion.

I have a darkroom 90 and it's Ok, but plastic corner pieces, poorly fitted roof braces.

If I wasn't a Boyscout this tent would never hold the weight it currently has on it!

i want to get a Gorilla 4x4x? For a pair of 600's and 190 watts of T5 CFL.

I will make my 3x3x6 Into a drying tent or a 400 watt HID Veg Tent.

Woa a 4x4 with 2x 600's? I am a 100% noob when it comes to how much light is needed but isn't that overkill? I have a 5x5 with a 1000 watt HPS in it. Perhaps I am not running enough light? Sorry for the myriad of questions lol.

Also that is exactly what I did with my old 2x4 tent. It is now my drying room that I can control the humidity and temp perfectly in.

I would be concerned with heat in a4x4 with 2 600. And the question re enoiugh light is relative to the number of plants however since you have a 5x5 tent I would say your ok.

Having once considered running CO2, I found that "scrubbing" the air (recirculating the room air thru the carbon filter) made the most sense. Why pump all the CO2 out as soon as you put it in? Then I started thinking about how to control the associated heat build up, and gave up on the whole CO2 idea.

I don't think light overkill exists.

I think as a beginner I can liken this hobby to owning a car.
Most people just own one a drive it and beat on a Car.
but some people love the car, feed it expensive oil, by accessories for it.
Some people like having a race car.

I like pushing to the limits of my equipment and Nutes to TRY and get the best possible yield.
I am flowering my first plant, day 26 from time flip, the first 7 was the stretch then bud formation started.

I dont see two side by side hoods with 600 watts each overkill, it's only 200 more watts than your 1000.
I like redundancy, if one light burns out the other one will stay lit.
i would also have the ability to flower with HPS and Metal Halide at the same time, I have read studies saying this produces really good Bud.
I also like the ability to load the light spectrum with my red and blue T5 CFLs. As supplemental side lighting.

Some people drive a Hyundai some drive a Jag then you have people like me who are into Big block 70's Muscle Cars with tons of horse power.

745 CFM inline fan and two 8" vented hoods should be able to control the heat from the wattage produced quite well.
A 4" inline fan is more than sufficient attached to a filter to create negative pressure and pump out Scrubbed air from tent.
Yeah I never doubted being able to control the heat. With enough a/c, ducting, and huge in-lines you can cool almost anything. I was just wondering if that would be wasted $ on the electric bill. But hey I am learning as well.

I had 2 x 600w in a 4.5 x 8 x 6.5 tent. Lights were ducted to the outside through window. No temp problem. Tried running without air cooling the lamps and exhaust temps went to 95F before I decided that just wasn't going to work. Ducted a 5,200 BTU A/C directly to the tent and exhaust air was 84F, but at 18" from the lamps it was 95F with bare bulbs. Ducting air cooled lamps outside makes controlling temps easy.

With the bare bulbs, humidity dropped below the 14% low end of the range on my meter, but that was with no plants in there. It only took an hour, so I suspect it would still be way too dry in there. The A/C ran almost continuously, too.
