Experienced grower, first time auto

I bought a bunch of seeds online and got but just 1 lonely free auto seed. I have done many photoperiods but never an auto. I am working on a perpetual cycle grow and am just wanting to throw the auto in as one of the first flowers to get things kick-started.

Ive seen that 18-6 seems to be a great autoflower grow. Any advice besides 18-6 all the way through?

Honestly, I have 0 interest in autoflowers but I don't want to throw away a quality seed.

Any advice for a first time auto grower besides extra light time?

No auto seed is quality imo. I’d toss it outside in a big pot and forget about it. Deer seem to like them come fall

I swear some you guys have been cucked by an autoflower dressed as a dude or something.. it's a free seed. You literally act like it's going to burn down your house and steal your wife lol. There's no need to be snide about certain strains of a plant, it's just childish. They both have their pros and cons. If you don't like autos, don't grow them. There's no need to classify them as animal food, especially when they can pump out a qp in 10 weeks at 20% thc, and are generally more lenient to lack of nutes and light cycle changes.

If it's free, just throw it in any tent you have going as they don't really care whether they get 12/16/24 hours of light. It can't do any harm.

Other than 18/6 I've read 20/4 is also beneficial. Some people advise against 24/0 due to lack of darkness. Some do it anyways. I never tried it personally. But for starters go with either one of the 2 above, you can't go wrong.
LST. LST the living shit out of it to maximize yield.
Also they do not require as much nutes as a photo. Go light and see if you need to increase. Better than having a nute tox early in life.
Go easy on defoliation too. Tuck and hide as much as you can. Cut fan leaves only if no other option is possible.
With autos you need to KISS more than with photos.
And most importantly, have fun. You can always experiment with other strains/breeders if you grow fond of them. Best of luck! bongsmilie

An autoflower actually killed my brother...

I'm not hating on them, I just have no experience. I've heard they can be great or shit yielders if you don't know what you're doing, hence this thread.

Photo periods work better for my cycle but I want to play with this girl just to play with it and see how they work.

Treat them like a photo. Any light cycle will work. Good luck.

Wasn't really directed at you. Just forgot to quote someone. Was directed at dude saying your better off basically using it as pest food.

I see a lot of it with people asking for help with their first auto...a bunch of elitists come in with responses like "Id throw it in the bin", "your just wasting your time even considering it, just throw it outside and hope someone steals it" "I find letting bugs east it more productive than smoking it".

I just think it's a childish response, especially when the seeds are free in most cases.

I was referring autos in the sense they're unstable you have little to no control over their life cycle. I said imo to be fair. To me they're not worth my time or energy to mess with. I'll get them after getting my seeds and either give them away or grow them outside for deer and bunnies and whatever else I have on my property. Just like anything I can't process to use for trim goes to chickens and goats. I can get a qb per plant in 10 weeks with regular feminized plant easy. And thc, terps, cbd,cbg and all the other little happy chemicals are always on point.
